prosaic 'automated service' Thank you for your assistance. This has been much appreciated. Have a nice day and do call again soon.
Seriously though, can't believe I never thought of that especially as I use saynoto0870 every day more or less.
Thanks again.
cheers and take care.

I can't believe I fell for the lure of talk talk, before reading any of these threads!
I received my modem and ran the disc only to have my computer crash completely, I lost everything and had to restore factory settings!
Finally I set up broadband but had real trouble with their email login, phoned and spoke to someone but they were no help and she kept saying a new disc would be sent out, I said it was now working but I had lost everything off my computer! she repeated that some of the discs were faulty and she would send another one!
I was then led through the process of setting up my email through Outlook Express as she said there were problems with their webmail! oh my - what have I done!
Has this happened to anyone else, with their comp crashing after loading the disc?If you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
Fortunately not. Was set up just fine with no problems.
Cheers and take care.

Well I emailed mr dunstone, oftel, ofcom and watchdog as they lost my mac code, I cant get through to them, my current supplier has cut me off its such a mess.the telephone is good but im not saving as I dont use it that much (well not enough to make the £8,99)so im at a complete loss as to what to do.
I think that they should have migrated existing talktalk customers first then do it gradual rather than a big bang that obviously hasnt worked for them and leads to poor customer service.when my contract ceases I will be away like a shot!
TalkTalk = dont talktalk/dont communicate/dont speak english/dont understand what a MAC code is/whoops we got cut off!!
So much for their vision on their webpage - 5 customer focused points!

JPW wrote:My connection to the Talk 3 with broadband package has unfortunately been riddled with problems and poor customer service. I was already a Talk Talk (2) customer and upgraded for the Talk 3/ Broadband package; as with most people this was for the lure of the free broadband. I applied in April, it is now August and still no broadband. They have not contacted me once to explain what's going on, I have had to contact them 4/ 5 times to chase up.
I called Talk Talk again today and they explained that the broadband and phone contract are separate - I could cancel the broadband order but would still be tied into the phone contract for 18 months (unless I pay £70 fee), even though for 5 months they have not supplied Broadband which was my whole reason for upgrading!

I am in EXACTLY the same position. Applied in April, was due to go live in June, and am stil waiting to receive my starter kit. Absolutely digraceful service- if they f*** up again I am going to make it my personal mission to get as many people to leave as possible. I'm talking TV, papers, magazines, Oftel - I'm going to everyone with this.
Surely, the fact that Talk Talk have not fulfilled their part of the deal (by sending you your starter kit) invalidates the contract between you and them.0 -
I was trying to sign up for the complete talktalk package but in the process they blocked my outgoing calls and refused to sort the problem out. Lucky escape! After being on the receiving end of their poor attitude I will stay with UKonline, who have been totally reliable for more than a year and only charge £9.99 per month. .. see my blog for the full rant.0

Hi
I have signed up online today for Talk 3 and have had an email confirmation. However after reading this thread I now want to cancel the order. Should there be a 7 day cooling off period for this contract?
Thanks

JenT wrote:We have just had 48 hours without internet access because of TalkTalk's poor customer services. They changed us over without notifying us, no welcome pack has arrived, no phonecall. So we had no idea what our password etc was our modem would not connect us to the network. TalkTalk were typically difficult to get on the phone sop it's been a dry 48 hrs without the net. Hopefully this information may help you avoid the same...
Yes. I signed up in April and was told my go live date was "May". I have even received my hardware (modem and filters plus CD to load software) but can do nothing without a username and password. Despite many calls to customer services I could make no progress until recently when I was told that my go live date is now 1st September!
We will see what happens next.0 -

Ring up TT and they should give you a 0870 automated service number to phone (which they say its free) you can then find out your username and password.
My BB was due to go active end of august also, was Active on the day I got their modem, luckily i rang them up to find out the logon details and they told me its Active. I am only getting speed of 2mbs at the moment, hopefully they upgrade soon so it gets faster.
In total it took 7 weeks for my BB to go active, not so bad since I was siphoning my neighbour"s wireless connection during that time. I had no BB line during the time so didn't go through the MAC process like alot of you having problems with.
Are calling all 0870 numbers free from Talk Talk?0
