Just feel like giving up

Ive had my house on the market for 7 months with 3 viewers but no present offers.

I cant see anywhere that we could afford to move to except semi detached houses and we presently live in a detached house, the semi's are bigger than our house but dont know if its a good idea to go for a semi!

To be honest we feel like our life is on hold and running out of patience totally fed up with the whole thing

Would anyone move from a detached to a semi?

Fed up with the whole process and feel like taking house of the market

Why do you want/need to move?
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • Hi Avenida,

In answer to your question, no I wouldn't move from a detached to a semi unless I really had to. We are currently in the position of moving from a semi to a detached as our lovely older gentleman neighbour is moving and we can't bear the thought of having noisy neighbours after years of living next door to silence. On the other hand you could land lucky and move in next to nice neighbours. It depends really on why you need/want to move and whether the extra space is really important.

    Good luck with your decision.

If you need space and cannot afford a detached bigger house, then a semi is your most likely alternative.

Im not sure i could move to a semi after having lived in a detached house. I'd be worried about how loud my telly or my singing in the shower was!

And as said previously, you may end up with the noisiest neighbours going.

As to selling your property, 7 months with only 3 viewers. You need to take a serious look at your price. The lack of viewers would suggest something is definately not right.

I may be wrong but if you are selling you will have a very (realistic) idea of how much you will get from the sale of your property. You would surely know the area you want to move to and the house prices in the area. Have you looked for a property and viewed a few within your budget?

I have had my house on the market for 4 months and had 2 viewings within the last 4 weeks. I have found the property I would like to purchase (a semi) and hoping I will be able to get an offer on the house to be able to put in an offer. It is a semi detached but I'm not worried about it, I am currently living in a semi and have had no problems. The only reason for my move is that I need a bungalow because of my health. Where I am looking to purchase there is only a very slim chance that I would be able to find a detached.

    Reasons I want to move:

    To gain a downstairs wc
    To gain a ensuite
    To gain a family room
To get a newer house (mine is 40year old)

    Selling my house:

My house is 15k cheaper than other houses on the market
Spoke to agent and thinks price is very reasonable
Had people driving past and noising in but no result of viewers

but if it was reasonable, then you would have more viewers

are you brave enough to give us the rightmove link? i wont be judgemental

but also is it marketed right? do the pictures look ok, is it in reasonable condition for that price?

Have you looked and seen properties in the area you would like to move to within your budget that fulfill your requirements?
