It was a lovely bright sunny morning here - washing on the line, but whilst I was at the crematorium, it poured with rain, so nice wet washing. It was only towels and stuff so not too worried!

That's nice tenmah. Its lovely to see Mums and daughters who are close. I sadly don't have that with my Mum but we are getting better than we were.

Does she suffer a lot (sorry but I don't know what she is ill with)

Yes she does, she walks with a stick and is only 22. She has Fibromyalgia, which is a wide spread chronic pain condition where all her muscles and joints are painful 24/7 and then on top of that she has flare ups all over her body, where a particular place is agony.

Sounds terrible, She really is a special person if she can deal with all that and still take time and effort to make you feel so loved.

    Thanks Luc.

She also works four days a week, which I think is amazing as she has chronic fatigue system caused by all the pain - and she keeps smiling and has a lovely smile with dimples!!

Thanks for the lovely comments about my family.....I think they're nice too but I am biased :D

Luc - Is your mum any more understanding on the PND yet?

Tenmah - Is her Dad in touch at all now?

I'm going to have to go and play a bit of guitar as you're all so lovely you're making me cry.

Pooky - yes she sees her Dad every week. I bought her up by myself (financially) til she was about 11 and then he got a good job and started paying. I can't fault him on that front - plenty of other fronts though!!

Aw, sorry for making you cry Butti. I will be quiet now because I know not everyone is as lucky as me, and I don't want to upset anyone.

Can you suggest to the most responsive of them that maybe they do something special for you for a day - take you out, go somewhere for a day. You seem to do so much for them and it's pretty bloody lame of them to be making a card after the event.

It's not the same if I've had to ask ehh hun.
Spudly-I'd strike if I were you...no ironing/cooking etc, then they'll realise how much you do for them!Do you drive them any where? Well, tell them to sod off!!!
    Sally-thinking of you today...xxxxx

I've done nowt all day, it was all done yesterday. Believe me, they'll know just how bad I feel by the tme I'm finished.

Oh Spud my lovely lovely friend. I know exactly how hurt and let down I would feel, but teenagers are notoriously egocentric. I have seen the relationship you and DD have and I'm sure she would not purposely intend to hurt you. Did your OH not 'remind' them yesterday? As ShoeGal said, it is thoughtless. Nothing more, nothing less. I think you have every right to tell them how let down you feel. They would not like it if you forgot their birthday/special day so why should you have to suck it up.

It happened to me once when mine were around the same age as yours and my OH tore a strip off them for being so thoughtless. They were old enough to be aware of what was expected and just didn't bother. Ok, they cooked dinner that evening but, as you say, the after-thought isn't the same. I'll bet this is something that won't be repeated in future years!

Happy Mother's Day from one mother to another.... I hope you do something you want to do and that your children learn a valuable lesson from this.

Aww Suzy, I love you hun. Your post made me cry , as did Bunny's text earlier.

My OH seems to think I'm in the wrong. He took himself off to bed earlier to escape the atmosphere. Maybe I'm wrong in just wanting to be acknowledged today, I dont now :o
