Reviving the good news thread......

Right, it seems to me that there's a fair few of us feeling down again. In fact, this time even some of the "old guard" are feeling a bit disenchanted with it all so I thought it would be a good time to resurrect the good news thread to try and give everyone a lift.

My good news is...... I counted my coppers and shrapnel pot and I have 16.83 in there. I shall be changing it all to beautiful golden £2 nuggets tomorrow to boost my savings pot. Amazing how the smallest thing can make me happy.

Anyone?

Thanks, Molanole, for starting this thread - a happy thread is always a bonus...!:D

My good news is that I got paid from my second job last night (have been working practically every weekend since January). I know that the guy is good for the money but up to now he has been a bit slack in handing over the cash  . Last night, he paid me half of what he owes me and tomorrow I am using the money to clear my Barclaycard Visa card bill in full.:T

    Yippee!!:j :j :j

Another little bit chipped off the grand total... (thats the second credit card I have cleared this year :T - just one more to go...and thats on 0% for now!).

Thanks, Molanole :D - its all thanks to this website and the folks posting here. I don't want to think about all the years that we just paid the "minimum payments" and thought that we were in control of our finances...!?!?! We are £10,000 less in debt than this time last year (which was when I started trying to overpay the first credit card). Then I found this place, read all the advice and the inspirational stories...and the rest is history (as they say! :p).

Thanks for your support - haven't told anybody "real" about our situation, so your round of applause is really appreciated!;)

Thanks from me too Malanole. I suppose dips in confidence are usual in situations like debt, but I'm so sad that so many people are down at the moment.

I'm blaming this ridiculous heatwave. So my good news is, storms on the way and a lowering in temperatures!

    :j

C'mon chaps! Let's get back on track!

We just turned out all our little savings boxes and found £32, thats Great as the Grandkids are visiting next week,, so guess we can "spoil them" even if it is in just a small way. lets face it £32 is better then nothing..

    Ok, I'll join in too.

My good news is that I got paid yesterday and got my payrise backdated to April and the quarterly bonus!

Very happy. This means that I might be able to go on holiday after all.
