I hear what you're saying about Disney, but dont forget, a lot of people have young families, and Disney is most of the reason they go to Florida!
also going back to Washington DC - what a place to visit, and nearly all free as well. we went before 9/11 and had a tour of the Pentagon as well - absolutely fantastic, don't know if they're still doing it though

Hmmmmm, really wasnt impressed with Washington DC! Couldnt get anywhere near the White House and forget getting into the Pentagon! All blamed on 9/11. Both of us said we'd never go there again  Hope that doesnt put you off - just being straight with you.

Next on the US list for us is Las Vegas and possibly Hawaii (honeymoon). Can't get enough of the American way of life.

    Hi weggy

I promise not to hijack thye Florida thread but I can well imagine that things have changed (a lot !) after 9/11. As an aside, I found the Korean War memorial to be very moving, & at night downright spooky. The Smithsonain was brilliant.

I think I would need my 2 1/2 year old to be a lot older before we returned again - besides, there is a LOT more of America for me to explore. I, like you really enjoys the American way of doing things.

I've been to Las Vegas and have my own ideas of it (mixed, but drop me a pm if you're interested) and I would love to visit Hawaii at some stage.

Good luck with the honeymoon planning

Anyone used a good site for cheap tickets? The best I have so far is £105/85 Orlando 4 park flexi-ticket and £156/136 for 7 day premium Disney ticket. Based on adult/child. Can anyone beat these?
    I don't believe it!

As a mum I can, and only would, take my kids during thier school holidays. (not a great believer in taking them out of school)
I'm a mum too, but home educate so we go when it's best for our schedule not a schools. In primary years there shouldn't be any problem and there's not much more educational than travel.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

Lucky you, :) Its still 119 days until we go.

I'm not sure about the bungee jumping but something worth checking out if he is an adrenalin junkie is http://www.skyventureorlando.com/ it is like skydiving indoors.

One thing to bear in mind about the bungee jumping is that your travel insurance will almost certainly not cover you.

Not sure but there are a couple of reverse-bunjees - one just off I-Drive and the other in Old Town, Kissimmee.

    cheers ;)

Old town kissimee has two massive bungee type things ones a catapult and the other is called a sky coaster where they harness you in pull you up 300 foot which is 100 higher than blackpools big one then you swing right down.

    Hi all
    Bit of advice please.
I've decided to tour Florida, we fly Tuesday (we kick off with three nights in Daytona beach, then heading down to miami for the all nite weekend beach parties....hehe!).
We hope to do it bargain basement prices, and want to get around as much as we can in the fortnight, we're two lads and not 'too' bothered about the theme parks!

Are the motels dirt cheap, and i mean can we find cheaper than the ones we've found so far on the web?

    Also

What do I prefix to the number to phone home, and is there a 'cheapest' mobile provider to use, or do I get a US sim whilst over there?

    Cheers
