I think you will find that tickets are not transferable.( not certain about that with the new type)
They do check, especially if you have tickets bought last year.0 -
Completely off topic currently, but I have some questions about florida and bookings
1. Has anyone been on a Virgin holidays trip, and if so how they performed in your view.
2. Has anyone been to the Rodeway inn or Quality inn international, or where I can find some decent reviews to go by?
3. My girlfriend and I won't be old enough to drive, and will be relying on the hotel's shuttle services to theme parks. How reliable are the services?
Any answers would be greatly appreciated!!!0 -
Tripadvisor is probably a good place to look for reviews of the hotels you mentioned.0

Hello cheepsk8
The Quality Inn International is used by many British people each year as it is very good value for money and in a good central position on International drive.
Many shops/restaurants can be walked to from the hotel.
The Jolly Trolley is very cheap (you can get day and weekly passes) and runs from the top to the bottom ends of International Drive, this gives you access to Sea World, the discount outlet shops (at both ends of the Drive) and the rest of the shops and restaurants.
Virgin Holidays are a good company to go with as they use Virgin Atlantic scheduled flights that are very reliable. Virgin Atlantic allow EACH person 2 x 32kg suitcase and a 5kg hand luggage allowance, which you will need to bring back all of the cheap clothes, trainers etc. that you are bound to buy
The shuttle buses are reliable but they will also pick up at other hotels on route so the journey can take a while, I would book early buses so that I had a longer day at the parks.
Have a nice holiday

I have stayed in the Quality Inn on ID. Sorry wouldn't recommend it. Basic, dirty, ant infested, mouldy bathrooms, dirty fridges, cleaning where you can see, torn bedding and we had to move 3 times as they kept giving us smoking rooms (which stank) even though on our original book it said non smoking room. Some of the rooms are very noisy due to I4 traffic. At peak times parking can be a problem in the hotel. Conferences going on while we were there and the coaches were parked across all the bays leaving no spaces for guests cars. Hotel ignored guests complaints and informed us that if we didn't park correctly in a bay the Police had powers to lift the car. They didn't lift the blooming buses though.

When we went to Vegas last year with Travel City it was with Air Atlanta and we had delays on both outward and inward journeys. Wasn't impressed and will avoid using them again
To be fair to Travel City , we've never had any problems on our trips to Florida with themSame old same old since 20080 -
This is cheepsk8's girlfriend, who told me all about this great site.
We are in the process of booking a hotel at the rodeway inn international now, not the quality inn international.
We looked at the hotel in the virgin brochure and got a quote nline from virgin, and the price was £1768. But to book the same virgin package holiday, but through Thomson travel agents, it was only £1414. The difference was that virgin lumped on top of the 1414, a single room supplement of 448 not stipulated in their brochure. But Thomson did not charge that amount if you booked with them. Just something to be aware of if someone is thinking of booking directly with virgin.0 -

A quick tip for Universal Studios deals - try the German language site, not the English. I was searching for deals two years ago from my office in Dusseldorf. Naturally, I was directed by default to Universal's German language site, where the offers were far, far better than the ones offered to the UK.
We got 4 days park entry to both/either Studios/Island of Adventure for the price of one, which meant that we had what we wanted, plus a fall-back option for 'odd' days. We also managed to get the 'Universal Hotels Residents' entry to the park before the it opened to the general public, even though we were staying off-site. Meant we got at least two major rides in before the great unwashed (ie the rest of you!) turned up.
It was all at a price none of the discounters could match.
I don't know if this is a constant differential between the English-German sites, but it's worth checking.
Finally, subscribe to the Universal newsletter - they often have really good promotions in English, although they're oftn last-minute or six months away.0
