  • Is this within walking distance of Downtown Disney or walking distance of Disney?

Just back from Florida and stayed onsite at a Disney resort but met up with friends who got a last minute deal to the Mariott Courtyards which is near to Disney Downtown/Marketplace.

Walking distance from downtown disney. We've got a car for the duration of the holiday but would like to go to Pleasure Island and both drink.

Just tried to phone the friends at the Mariott but they are out, will try later or tomorrow morning and ask them as we met them on Sunday at Downtown Disney and although they brought the car they should be able to let me know if it was walkable.

I do know they are happy with the hotel, got an upgrade to a suite which includes microwave, fridge etc although the first morning they had breakfast and it was good value they felt.

Apparently, although the Mariott Courtyards is only about two minutes by car from Downtown Disney it would be about 20 minutes walking ;)

Not to be recommended in the heat of July (36 while we were there) but perhaps you are going at a slightly cooler time.

To be the best of my knowledge, the Courtyard by Marriott is now a Holiday Inn.

Ahh, just checked and they have a two new properties, both of which aren't as close as the original.

They are both approx. 2 miles away from DTD.
  • We're heading there for the last two weeks of September (smaller crowds and slightly cooler temperatures). Looked through them all and have discounted the Hilton and Wyndham (too expensive), seen bad reviews about the Grosvener so reckon its beetween the Holiday Inn and Best Western. Any thoughts anyone?

    Thanks

We have stayed at the Best Western about 5minutes walk from Disney Marketplace. This was booked on Priceline for about £30 a room.
The hotel is fine and for the money we paid good value. You could try Priceline request the Disney area. Look on biddingfortravel.com before you bid

Going to florida usa on sept for 2 weeks and i thought and im sure i read somewhere that the usa you needed a visa to get in but i thought this was this october 2005 but a work mate told me that this was last oct 2004.
Is this right do i need this visa or is this after i have been and this october?
And if i am wrong and this guy is right what do i do and where do i get it asap as its only 4 weeks now and we go and this is now a worry.
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.
  • I'm also heading off to Florida in September but I think that as I've got a machine readable passport I should be allright without a visa.

machine readable passport its the line of characters at the bottom of the page where your photo and other info is right at the back ,they will also take your photo at imigration in the U.S to match up if you ever return to the U.S ,if you are a uk citizen you will come under the visa waver program and will receive a white card to fill in on the plane near the end of your flight out(take your time and ask for help to fill this in as there is a big fine for getting it wrong)one per family name.
hope not a repost but read this forum ,its all you need to know about florida and if you ask a question you will get a very quick reply
