A friend informs me that you now have to have your hand scanned at Disney to stop the resale of unused days on tickets. Only site I could find that mentioned this was Ticketmania. I don't know whether the same applies to Universal. Shame really as we lent our 5 Park tickets to friends when we visited as you just had to sign in (if they could be bothered). All of the Magic Your Ticket will be using the Biometric system, on the first day you use your tickets they will scan your 2 fingers, and encode the ticket. So that means that you can not give or sell unused days, you have to use them yourself. ticketmania

Here's more about it here. I haven't heard if Universal Studios are planning it.

Just quick one:
I'm staying in Pop Century resort hotel and am buying a 14 Day Ultimate, but apparently you don't get free parking with the ticket, but do I if I'm staying in the hotel?
Thanks
(also, any recommendations for restaurants to eat at whilst i'm there?)0 -
Wow knappster we will be at Pop Century 3 July to 19th July
Not hiring a car but I understand that yes, staying onsite entitles you to free parking at the Disney resorts.
What dates will you be there?0 -
Edinburghglass:
Disney Tickets. I notice you used Best4Attractions for your tickets and I am torn between them and AttractionTicket Direct who will both offer me same price but Best4Attractions offer free planet hollywood meal - would you recommend them and is it tickets NOT vouchers.0 -
I went for best4 as at the time they were the cheapest and gave the Planet Hollywood vouchers plus no cc charges and no postal charges.
It is tickets you get sent and not a voucher but the Planet Hollywood is a voucher, lol.
Just read yesterday on the Dis boards about someone who had used the Planet Hollywood vouchers and found it to be good, we probably wouldn't normally have bothered going to Planet Hollywood but will now to use the voucher, I quote:
We booked our tickets with Best4attractions and they included a Planet Hollywood meal. I would highly recommend it. Admittedly there wasn't a huge choice, mainly burgers, but the portions were huge, tasted great, soft drinks/refills were included too. The whole atmosphere & setting is fantastic. There was no service charge included, i presume this is because it's usually based on a % of your meal but as the meal was free then no charge. We obviously left a tip though.0 -
Edinburghglass - thanks for your speedy response - I have certainly made my mind up now - any free meal is good!0

As in fact I haven't had my tickets yet from best4, I'll phone them tomorrow to check, three weeks till we leave, and I'll let you know. They did send out a confirmation and receipt for payment.
I'll let you know what they say tomorrow. When do you go?
edited to add, I just checked my Disney file and I swear I will be charged extra baggage weight for that alone :rolleyes:0 -
I go in September. Just foned Best4 back to book my tickets. When I e-mailed them to ask if they price matched and still incude the meal as its not on their web page now but still on the Ask Jeeves at the top of the advert. I got a very nice email from Sarah who said she was happy to help :rotfl: which I presumed to be positive. Just called them to book my tickets and got a miserable guy who said we dont price match and the free meal finished on friday and sarah has gone home so not booked them yet! So will call 'Sarah' tomorrow and hopefully get better response. Apart from that dead excited about hol. Went 10 years ago with OTH - 2 kids later (8,5) will be a different holiday!0

When I was checking the prices of tickets I googled to find all the websites, decided on the ticket I wanted, which is the 14 day seeing as its only about £10 dearer than 7 days, wrote down all the prices on that particular ticket and the website.
Some of the prices have gone down by a pound or two but I paid £153 from best4 with the Planet voucher included in April. I have just had a quick look at the other site you mention and they quote £159 for the 14 day ticket
If the Planet offer is over and you can't get it through Sarah it might well be worth holding on for a few weeks to see how the prices go?
Also it appears that some websites are cheaper for different tickets...you think you are a stressedoutmum now :rotfl:it can only get worse!!
I'll have a look and see if I can find my list of sites that I checked. Three weeks today and all the worrying and planning will be over and we will be at Disney0
