we will be in orlando for 4 days in early may and was wondering if it would be worthwhile buying maybe a 3day universal pass and a walt disney day ticket in advance or if it would simpler just to get discounted tickets when we are there?
far too much to see in 4 days-what do you all think are the must sees?
thankyou
Hi we just returned for Orlando which we did 1 week at then flew to jamacia for a week. Most of the places are selling tickets for 14 days, so if you only use then for 4 days, you can sell them to the ticket touts (you only get $40-50) but what are you going to use them again for????
We did universal 3 day hopper and we paid for them before we left... i found the cheapest ones at http://www.mercurytravel.net/parkpasses/page19.htm
loads cheaper then other sites....
we paid on the door at magic kingdom... approx £130 for 2 adults and 2 kids. I HIGHLY recommend doing the HULK at Island of adventure.... as long as you like fast rides this is for you. We never had good weather but it was dry and the parks were alot quieter than they usually were.
if you need any other info just email me

I'm sure you're aware that it is illegal to sell the tickets to touts but aside from that why pay for a 14 day ticket that you know you won't use? Where is the moneysaving there? Can you not upgrade those 14 day UK tickets?
There are numerous comments in this thread about purchasing tickets from licensed ticket brokers locally in Florida such as http://www.floridaorlandotickets.net/
Eg. An adult UK 14 day ticket is about £159. That's about $300. For a few dollars more you can buy a 10 day non expiring park hopper ticket.
Use common sense folks.....0 -
we just bought tickets from best 4 attractions.com, we wanted the 5 day premium ticket for £144 / adult , we also got a voucher for a lunch each at Planet Hollywood and then they offered the 7 day ticket for the same price !!0

Hi all,
It is now 3 weeks tomorrow until my first Florida trip. This board has helped me to plan the trip better, thanks to all who have posted.
Has anybody stayed in the Bahama Bay Resort in Kissimee? we have a 3 bedroom villa booked there and would like a honest review of the place. You're my wife now!!0 -
Have you tried looking on the Dis forums here. Bound to find a thread there somewhere where someone has stayed there.Allow plenty of time for reading though as I end up spending hours there especially reading about other people's experiences0

Thanks both, I have found a good few reviews of the place and seems like a good place to stay.
My next question is, I am possibly going to spring a suprise wedding on my fiancee out there and am not looking to spend a great deal of money, (she does not see the point in spending thousands on a wedding either). Has anybody done this in Florida, and if so can they recommend a nice chapel etc? You're my wife now!!0 -

I don't think it's as straight forward as mentioned above, I think it really depends on what your plans are. I can see the benefit of the 14 days pass as it gives you the freedom to access the parks for a full 2 week holiday, meaning you can just pop over to the parks in the evening for the fireworks or early in the morning to pick up chocolate chips cookies from the Main Street Bakerywithout feeling like you've wasted a whole days ticket.

Finishrich,
I agree it totally depends on your situation and where you are staying when you are there. I'm just saying that people shouldn't be blinkered into thinking that they have to buy a 14 day ticket here that expires when their holiday does. There are other alternatives. If you are intending to holiday in Florida again then a non-expiring ticket works out better value, in the long run.
On the subject of using a ticket to buy cookies, did you know that if you say at the ticket desk that you need to run in and buy something, Disney will swipe your cc and allow you into the park for about half an hour. If you're not out before that time then they'll charge you. That's cheaper still.0 -
I am buying the 14 day UK pass as we are staying onsite and as this ticket is just £10 more than 7 days it will enable us to do as Finish Rich says, pop in to watch the fireworks on a evening when we have spent the day elsewhere!
Don't tell my daughter but I have decided to treat us to a day at Discovery Cove :j Weighing up the pros and cons of spending £139 for a day at the beach I took into account that a ticket to Sea World, which we want to do anyway, is around the £30 mark whereas with the Discovery Cove ticket we will get 7 days free entry to SeaworldThats my excuse and I am sticking to it! My plan is to keep it a secret until the day but not sure if I will be able to manage that
