The worse part though was the stress of it. Being on hold to the bank, writing to them and giving them the same evidence over and over again. Took the shine a bit off the holiday.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Ouch.
Like you, I keep all of my reciepts and always put in a TOTAL figure, rather than leaving the total blank.
For ME it's cash & CC all the way - going back to TC's would be like going back to B&W tv

Aye, but your other half isn't a cretinous, drunken benefit claiming simpleton, he's a regular bloke so why no dabbers on holiday ?

Regular - I wouldn't call him that:rotfl:
He will take some cash on holiday, usually £100 just to tide us over. Then there will be TC and CC for reputable shops. First visit to Florida we only took a small amount in TC preferring to rely on CC/DC. However we found the TC so convenient as we were never asked for ID and it was good to know we would have money back if they were lost. After the fiasco with the CC next visit we were happier with the extra security of TC. I did use my DC a few times and found out that Lloyds had introduced a £1 per use charge. Luckily they refunded me as a goodwill gesture. We do take more than one card with us on holiday too, just incase a cash machine swallows it. Happened to another guest in our hotel in Spain once and she was stumped for money then.
Seriously though he does see regular people coming unstuck so we have to play safe. We have this on going dispute in our house about door keys. I leave back & front door and windows with keys in all the time. He thinks we should put them in a safe place because if we get burgled then they won't have a quick and easy get away with our property. My view is sod the property, we're insured but if there is a fire I want to get out quick without fumbling around looking for a key. I win, keys are in the doors!!:T~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

It would be awful dull if we all thought the same.
When we were away this year we must have come across about 8 different methods for paying with a credit card - very odd when we're so used to chip/pin.

We are taking mostly cash but credit card aswell for emergancies
We will be 'doing' Epcot xmas day
If you don't mind me asking, who did you book your mini cruise and how much did it cost? We're off to Florida for Xmas & New Year and I thought it would be nice to try and squeeze a mini cruise in to maybe Mexico or the Bahamas while we're there.
Thanks!

Hello!
My parents booked the holiday as its our wedding present.
We drive to Fort Lauderdale and pick up the Royal Caribbean ship (Enchantment I think), we sail to Mexico (Cozamel) and we are there for 1 day.
They booked through a website called vacationstogo.com it was £156 each, inc all food and entertainment. The website specialise in cruises from USA, obviously no flights needed.
Hope that helpsJust owe Dad £2500 for a new car
