Feeling low with clutter

Good to hear that everyone is getting there. I'm going to tackle my bedroom (gulp!) this afternoon. I know there won't be time to do it all, especially as my sister is coming down, but if I can just get started, it will be a positive move. I'll let you know later how I get on.0

How is everyone doing now?.I'm decluttering by eating all the eggs as quickly as possible!;)Every day above ground is a good one0

painting got done, the cleaning all done, the de clutter.... got moved to my bedroom...
About to go get the French exchange student in a few mins.
Good news is, council have decided to move me to band 2, so as soon as student goes home in 2 weeks, its de clutter and pack time so that when we move it's organised haha0 -
rearranged living room and sorted books etc whilst doing it
(with help from my son).Aching all over now but so pleased to have put new ebay bookshelf (£15!) in place and cupboard for kids toys etc.Next clear the table so we can eat on it.I'm determined to get my living room nice to relax in.Unfortunately only 1 living/dining room and 6 people in a small house seems to mean mess.

Well, I haven't done much for a few days - Eaga contacted me to say that they were coming to fit a new boiler and check all the radiators. A mad panic to clear the stuff in the space under the stairs, where the boiler is. That wasn't too bad - I discovered the mouse poison that I put down before Christmas hasn't been touched
(I thought I had a mouse at one point, but no droppings anywhere, so I must have been wrong).
I also 'encouraged' the kids to clear everything away from radiators (also known as threateneing to chuck their stuff out if they didn't help me- I wasn't well, though). That just made some of the rooms look even worse, as stuff was moved into the middle of the floor.
But...
*we now have a clear dining table
*this week's washing has already been taken upstairs
*all clothes have been put away in my sons' room
*a set of shelves in the boys' room has been cleared and moved, with the lower shelves now housing books that were otherwise homeless
*the landing is clear, apart from one small (relatively neat) shelf unit
*one of the bookcases is finally up in the lounge - only five more to do(we're not known for our DIY skills and a friend's husband has been offered to me by my friend to come and put up the rest of the bookcases
)
*a unit that has been in the hall - and in the way - has finally been cleared
*I have given two more bags to charity and filled several recycling bags
*I've sorted out a set of drawers in the kitchen
*I've even cleared a small area of my bedroom!
And a few of weeks ago, I was able to pass on some large nappies (adult size) that had been incorrectly supplied to my son. I've had them in for more than a year, but the continence service wouldn't take them back as I had opened them (on the instructions of the continence nurse, to try them on my son - I told her they were too big). Anyway, I was able to pass them to someone who can use them, so it was moneysaving for them and decluttering for me :T0 -
Fab stuff crutches and kingfisher:T:T Slow and steady wins the race. Keep going in fits and starts and over the months you will achieve loads.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

Well done both of you. :T:T
Bit of progress here:
2 printers gone to freecyclers
back garden cleared of excess pots, flagstones etc
bin bag of clothes ready to take to school0 -

How you all doing?
I've been unwell for a week or so and what with dd being off school and me working extra shifts, I've not got a lot done tbh.
I'm plodding on though - got dd(8)'s room done and I'm very pleased with it.
Now dd(17) has decided she wants hers done for her birthday...
I'm supposed to be sanding the woodwork in the hallway at the moment but I've decided to have a break until I fetch dd from school (I hate starting something and then having to stop!)
Is the exchange student still with you mupette? Has it gone ok?0
