Further to my using the professional declutters last month, they have a fun quiz page you can try out to see what effect clutter is having on your life:

    might help the process...

Today I've got more boxes via freecycle, bought one of the sanders from Aldi and sold two things via an ad in my local paper.

One of the people who came to buy something was very rude because I wouldn't reduce the price . I almost told her to go forth but kept my cool and she paid the asking price in the end! :D.

Oh, I've been to the dentist as well!

I'm waiting until dd is in bed (next half hour) and I'm going to pack up the wii and ps2 plus games.

After that I am going to clear one of the kitchen cabinets - I've got all the big stuff out but need to go through and sort little bitty things iykwim?

mupette - sorry you are having such a carp day: sounds like my yesterday afternoon. It doesn't help when you feel rough and make a huge effort to go somewhere to be so let down: people don't realise how hard you have to try to do simple things sometimes.

Bestspud - some people have a cheek don't they - it was advertised at a price. Fair enought to ask but but you can't insist, lol.

Well done all you declutterers - slow is the only way to go. I'm still the process but don't think it will ever really end.

I'm just posting because I'm on another small forum for unclutterers that's slow but has been inspiring to me, and an addiction. come on over for more support and ideas!

I've decluttered once to put stuff in storage for a year abroad, then decluttered when I moved back. Now I'm doing it agon 6 months later havign moved house. Luckily, in the new area H has a garage (totally his territory) and its in a lovely area and in a much better state so H is helping this time.

I don't have any kids to excuse the mess either so its time I got on with things again.

I've cleared all my kitchen cupboards now - and dumped loads of stuff!

Just the odds and sods drawer to go - I hate sorting that but do it every couple of months so it won't be as bad as the cupboards.

Today I've packed up files (empty) as I will see what I need when I put stuff back and freecycle the rest.

I'm just about to do the wii and ps2 that I didn't get round to last night - got carried away with the kitchen but I'm so glad I did.

So far the self-storage has been a brilliant idea - I can't recommend it highly enough. There may be drawbacks further on, of course, but for now, it's great!

Then it's under the stairs I go later!

If I'm not back by the end of the day, would someone send in a search party, please! :rotfl:

Spiders are my biggest fear under there but I'm determined I will do it!

BB - I know what you mean about emotions! It's actually a very difficult job this decluttering! It seems like just chucking out junk/unwanted stuff on the surface but it's not like that in reality at all.

How did your garden clearing go, Crutches?

Glad you are feeling better Mupette and good luck with the table.

badkitti - thanks for the link - I had a mooch last night and there's some useful tips on there.

Thanks to you all for keeping this going - it's certainly helping me! :j

    Hi everyone :)

well, the cupboard under the stairs (where I keep the ironing board, hoover etc.) has been ruthlessly decluttered but there's STILL not enough room for the hoover! How rubbish is that? lol!

Threw loads away though which is great because now I can get at the dustpan and the iron etc. without stuff falling on the floor and there's nowhere for spiders to lurk behind empty boxes etc.

The second hand chair we bought to replace the sofa still stinks of fags so I've dragged it out into the garden for a bit :)

there's a lot to do, but I've done no college work and she wants to see my folder on tuesday - gulp! decluttering will have to wait. alton towers tomorrow, go ape on sunday, picnics to make, ironing to do and 'must have' clothes that were only put in the wash this morning ... sigh ... lol

Hope everyone's well and happy on this lovely sunny day :)

    yay i did it.

cleared the table, then stuck newpaper all over it and chairs (bit of a Mr Bean when he painted his room)
newspaper over the bookcases, curtains removed and bagged ready for OH to wash in his washing machine.

Dog is confused as his bed was moved to the kitchen, so there was more space for the painting this weekend.

Hope everyone has a good day decluttering
