    Oh MC, talking about only having 3 Reps in her team reminded me!

    I texted my Rep today saying she hadn't put her order in and did she want some help ordering online. She never turned up for training, hasn't logged into or registered her account and with me starting work, haven't chased her about it.

    She texted back saying she wasn't ordering - she has her own Beauty business and wanted to sell avon products there alongside everything else they sell, but their Rep for their products doesn't want her selling Avon products.

    When I went to the shop to see her, she hadn't told me it was her own business, only told me when I got there, then said her husband didn't want her stocking avon either.

    I suggested that when she did manicures and pedicures, she pointed out the products in the avon books that would keep their feet soft and well heeled and hands soft, etc. or bought some of those items and stocked them, as then they would not be competing with the products they were currently selling.

    She texted me back that she thought she would go door knocking. I texted back explaining that she couldn't just door knock where she lived, and I would have to ask for territory for her, but that she still needed to order books as I could not provide her with anymore.

    I just feel that this Rep is wasting my time. She hasn't put an order in for 2 campaigns so that she hasn't had to pay her admin fee, she has had her free books, and wants to wait another campaign to see if she gets any customers. Well I am not giving her more books for free, she has cost me 2 sets of books and still not ordered.

    She keeps telling me that she really wants to do avon, but I don't think she can alongside her own business. Her husband doesn't want her doing it and she hasn't made much effort to find customers.

    Hi

    I dont know if this has been mentioned as I havnt read throught the thread.

    I used to do the Avon. I found it helpful before you start to go round the streets your allocated and ask the people if they would like a book posted, that saves SO much time and effort posting at houses of people who wouldnt even consider buying.

    Put the book in a see though plastic bag so if they dump it outside their doorstep it wont get wet and you will still be able to use it again and buy some post it notes to stick on the front of each book asking the customer to leave it outside when they have finished.

    Offer free gifts. Stock up on BOGOFS on products that are £1 or less, give out samples to the regular customers. Send them xmas cards etc. I know that sounds silly but it gives more of a personal service and believe me they will appreciate it :-)

    Sounds like you and I have the same problem, GG. Can't resist a bargain.... find it's a lot easier to have a 'treasure chest' of gifts/bargains to choose from as/when necessary rather than trawl the shops looking for a pressie for a certain person/occasion.

    Aureol, seems like you've gone the extra mile for that particular team member and she's trying to pull a fast one.

    Quickly coming to the conclusion that am not actually suited to being a SL...... So far:

    - it's cost me £40+ to get one of my team from MOV to HOV (I gave her an order, which then I couldn't sell and didn't have the heart to ask her to return);
    - I've given two newbies details of the free computers they can claim (neither have bothered to follow it through);
    - I've allowed one newbie access to my own computer so she can input her order online to claim her free samples, etc. under the Smart Start scheme. So far she's not even bothered to answer my texts as to how she's inputting her 2nd order (due tomorrow)
    - I canvassed and got 12 potential newbies (none of which came to fruition)
    - my potential 4th team member has, am told, had £78 worth of orders to input for the last 5 weeks but hasn't yet bothered!
    - I was given a supposedly Hot Lead by my ASM, which caused me nothing but hassle and she never even agreed to meet with me;
    - My SL took pity on me and passed on a lead, which entailed me with a 2 hour round trip (she signed up but then cancelled!)

    In my experience, sales are easy but getting reps to sign up is exceptionally hard! :(

    Yep MC, I feel your pain!

    Like Lozza said a while back in this thread, once you get 5 good Reps on your team, it is easier.

    But for me, it is getting the 5 good reps on your team!

    Let me see

    I have 1 rep who is struggling for customers, she works full time and has 2 boys, so don't think she wants territory.

    I have 1 rep who is going on maternity leave starting from next week, one of my highest earners.

    I have 1 rep who has had to go home to get new ID and won't be back for another month, my other highest earner.

    I have 1 rep who does F&F, does well, has territory but refuses to answer my questions about whether or not she is canvassing her territory.

    I have 1 rep who has not paid her admin fee, is now on her 3rd campaign.... with no order in sight.

    So I have 5 reps and last month made nothing from them :( in fact I still owe Avon money - which will be debited from any money I make this month :( .

    Yep when my Sis In Law said being an SL was hard work, don't think she realised how hard!

    Mel, I don't think it is that newbies are entitled to a free computer.

    I think MC means 2 of her team, newbies, are entitled to a free computer through other means, ie the free computer and broadband if you have a young person in your house.

    Yes, as aureol said, there's no entitlement due to being a newbie but rather because of the Government scheme i.e. if you claim certain benefits and have a child of a certain age. It's all part of the Gov's idea to get everyone on-line by a certain year. Gather it's worth up to £550 but two of my newbies can't get their act in gear to claim it (one uses the excuse of not being able to pay the BT connection fee, which I gather is vastly reduced anyway..... ) :mad:

    Just to let you know.....

    After returning 2 lots of old style brochure bags the kind lady from avon rang me yesterday and told me to use a different product code to order the new style bags. The code is 76968

    Hope this proves to be successful as the old bags are RUBBISH!!!! :)

    I got old style last camp and just could not be bothered to return
    So this time going to order one set from code in HT and the other code quoted on a post in here and see what I might end up with:)
