Just catching up on the thread, well done on the new job aureol I hope it goes reall well:)
I have some good news and some bad. Good news is I have £502 worth of orders so far and still got some books to collect,:D bad news is I was given a new road to canvas, I double checked on the SMA it was free and it was so I used 50 current brochures left over from not signing any reps up this campaign, went back to collect them yesterday and every brochure has been taken except one that had a note saying 'this road already has a rep' to say i'm annoyed is an understatment! :mad:This rep has stolen my books and didnt have the decency just to call me and let me know, the sma says there are no reps other than me and my mum in the area so I have no idea who it was!
The staff in sainsburys must think i'm a right piggy, I've done an offer where if you spend £15 in the brochure you get a free easter egg so far I''ve bought 12 and got to go back this afternoon for another lot :)

that is really annoying about the other Rep. I wouldn't believe SMA to say there are no other Reps, and I would be careful about how you are using SMA. We are not supposed to do certain things as from 1 April they will start checking what we are doing and freezing us out for incorrectly using it.

The rep might be from another road, quite a way away who has been given this road or canvassed it before SMA and has not been updated on it.

Contact you ASM and tell them, they might know who it is and maybe get your books back.

I must admit when I found that Rep's books on my road, I took one book and tried calling her, but her phone was switched off, so kept that book, but told my ASM who "was supposed to get in touch with her". Don't know if she did.

Well done you on getting 12 £15 orders! In my old job, I ran the sports and social club at work and every Easter we would give all the members mini easter eggs or an Easter Egg. Our local Sainsbury's got used to me coming in and mass ordering! :rotfl:

I do hope you get your books back :(

Well, today I am supposed to be meeting with my work place to discuss hours, pay, etc, but cannot get anyone to look after DS. I haven't slept all night worrying about it and how bad it looks. Also had 2 mystery shops booked for today, and am not supposed to take DS to one, but am going to have to. I wanted him to goto childminders this morning so I could do that one and then he would be tired enough to sleep while I did the second one.

Oh well, my life is always complicated! What's new? I rang the job at 7am to leave a message, and there was someone there working! He took my information but I said I would call back to speak to the lady. I just hope they don't think I am wasting their time. Also think I have upset my friend a little. She was texting last night, saying Can't you get anyone else to look after DS, and I tried, my childminder, other mum friends I know, one is in hospital and she never told me! Right moan over.

    Thank you though MillieCat.

Milliecat we should be getting territory from area managers as A said we can't use sma for that - only for getting territory for brand new sign ups, before their contract is loaded. Oh has territory miles away in a village we drive through to get to work - there's no reps there but some of the territory is his. Mil has territory miles away - just cos there's no reps in the area doesn't mean it's free as some people don't want territory on their doorstep, and others have to go miles away if there's nohing free closer to them.

Yes I offer a 20% discount for a first new order and a 10% discount on second order when recanvassing for new customers, I don't do a minimum spend as I don't want to put anyone off - the main thing for me is tempting people to order!

  • I do a 'Free Gift' when you spend £20 and then buy something from the 99p section or HT as the gift. It seems to work.

Now a Q about territory! Spoke to SL last night who had spoken to ASM and she said there is some new territory near me but i can have it cos i already have some and if i wanted it i would have to sign DH up but i do the work in order to get it. I said i would give some of my current territory back cos its a little futher away and she said no! Is this fair or right???

    Hi Gloversgirl

    Unfortunately it is.

As far as your ASM is concerned, your DH is just another rep with territory request. If you give up your territory as it is further away, she may not allocate you anymore.

The best thing to do is carry on with it for a few weeks, and see if you can find territory for yourself more locally, and then ask her to allocate the new territory you find to you and for you to give up the old one that is too far.

well...ive definately had my business head on this week. Everywhere i go i think avon avon avon. I think my friends have stopped comin round cause they know im a little bit obsessed lol

Ive been emailing my heart out to find people who will display my flyers etc.

spent hours on blimmin vista print trying to cut the cost down but eventually went for it and ordered some business cards, postcards and a window sticker (my OH refused to have a door magnet on his car but agreed to a window sticker:think: and its PINK!:rotfl:) anyway slowest delivery option so ive gotta wait aaagggeees

found a business card in with my avon books from a customer so have contacted them to ask if we could swap b cards and give out each others to our own customers (waiting for reply) and have contacted all the people i know who have their own business to do the same;)

One lady/customer (as above) has said yes to swapping and also asked if i wanted her to take books nto work. I said yes though it would be up to her to sort money and take products etc as i cant get there BUT if she received alot of interest i could always sign her up so she could earn from it herself!:T :T

Had an email about a local market where we can have our own stall etc so getting sorted for that:j (any tips/ideas of what to do? i dont want to sell avon i want to use it to find prospects have already thought of mini bags) AND have forwarded it to the ladies i know who need to promote themselves:D

Had an email from a lady who runs her own business asking if i would like to show her products to my fam+ friends/customers and keep half the earnings...anyone know any laws etc against this before i say yes? I think you have to have a licence to sell door to door (?) but surely if im re-canvassing for avon and wearing a product i coud mention it at the same time?

My AM found a lead close by who im signing today:j so i had to go out and find which roads exist and which are still built to find him territory. good excuse to get some air and excercise

written 3 a4 pages of people i could sell/share/show to who i hadnt thought of before but they do include some randoms like the postmans mrs lol.

Business head aside you do meet some proper dingbats doing this dont you!? I had one woman (who lives directly opposite me)order the morgan watch but only spent £5 so i took it back 2 weeks ago and she said she would run it back to me. a few days before order date i text to say i needed the book back by (whenever) if she still wanted to order. No reply day before order text again, knocked, NOTHING
7.30pm knocked, oh yes i wanted to order come in. I couldnt as i needed to watch my front door so she said she would leave it out tomo. I said no as it needed to be ordered before 10pm tonight.
'ok 2 mins and ill run it over to you' 9.45pm..still nothing. I text and said im ordering in 5 mins so if you want anything.... NOTHING. sent my order just beofre 10.
Half 10 she text saying 'who dat?' WHO DO YOU THINK WOULD BE TALKING TO YOU ABOUT AVON!!?? I SAY MY NAME AT THE END ANYWAY!! i ignored her and then she text again saying sorry she just realised blah blah blah. ITS NOT THAT DIFFICULT! lol:mad:

ANyway life story over. Just needed to get everything out of my head so i can put some more stuff in there lol

:rotfl: Yep! Know just where you're coming from Sophisoph! The numpties are out there in force :D

BTW - i've just done a template for an Avon Gift Voucher. I'ts just the right size to fit in one of the cheapie notecards from The Works and you can change the amount as you like (just done a £5 one for a lady who has ordered 7 sets of Aqua Weights for her aquarobics class - having ordered 4 last time......woo-hoo!....and she's got me a new customer!). It will only cost me £3.75 and looks really nice. It also saves me remembering what I've given her before - she probably has a cupboard full of hand cream :p

Just PM me your email addy if you'd like to crib!
