Avon Hints and Tips (Part 4)

hello ladies,
I have a SL coming to see me tomorrow morning to tell me more about becoming an Avon representativeI know I will probably find out lots of information tomorrow however, I'm a bit like Johanne where I like to work things back so to speak.
My question is approximately how many hours a week do you spend on Avon as a representative?
How many hours spent to drop books off (say 40 books to make things simple)
How many hours spent to collect
Time placing orders on line once a month
Deliveries to customers?
thanks in advance
I find I average about 40 seconds per book for dropping off - depends on length of driveway/shared driveway, etc
It probably takes about 1 minute per book to collect - a bit longer than dropping off as you need to allow for calling at those houses that haven't left their books out. However you will also need to go back a 2nd time, I find that even after calling on houses that haven't left their books out I only get back about 70% of the books. A 2nd go usually recovers about 40% of those outstanding.
Not sure about how long to place an order as I do it in dribs and drabs.
It probably took about an hour to unpack and check off my 1st delivery (about £300) and a further hour to actually bag it up.
Delivering to customers: no more than 10 mins per customer (walking) but mine are local to me and close to each other.C5 £202; C6£541 :j; C7 £502; C8 £379; C9 £379
"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man." - George Bernard Shaw0 -
My own orders are usually between £300 and £400 so about £100 in commission then I usually get £200-£300 commission from my team, my teams dropped quite a bit so only have about 30 reps, I also only have 3 territory customers ordering at the moment so really need to canvass that.
As for time taken I spend about an hour on deliveries / collecting next book (one stop) and an hour to sort the stuff out when it arrivesJan 2010 - Overdraft £9,500 / Credit Cards £5,000 / Loan £9,500 / Mortgage £128,000
Jun 2010 - Overdraft £0 / Credit Card £0 / Loan £0 / Mortgage £125,250
Oct 2011 - Overdraft £7,000  / Mortgage £115,295
Dec 2014 - Overdrafts 15,000 / Credit Cards 16,000 / Loans 25,000 / Cars 18,000 / Mortgages 232,5000 -
hello,
I'm not an AVON rep, but my sister was up untill she left the UK.
I've got about a box worth of her stock that I won;t use, is it allowed for me to offer the stock for sale here?
thanks,

Aureol - how did your interview go??? Have been keeping an eye on the thread all day to see how you got on
Hi keri.s interview was at 2pm, then had to collect DS, and come home, make dinner which he didn't eat and do some tweeting on twitter!
Interview went really well until at the end when they mentioned it was a full time position, which I knew and I said when I responded I had mentioned I was looking for a part time job. Unfortunately the job which I could do standing on my head, does need some full time, no homeworking, or even part time. If they did take me on part time, it would probably be a good idea to do it as a jobshare, as there is a lot of work involved.
The other reason I would want part time, the money is not great and most of it will go on childcare, so if only work part time, less money on childminder.
Well, losing another 2 reps. Am I ever going to get 5 that put in regular orders?
One is taking maternity leave from april, the other, her id was stolen when she was mugged, so she is going home to get new passport, and ID card, not coming back for 4 months.
So the search is on again!0 -
Fingers crossed for you Aureol - sounds like you made a good impression. Either way, look on it as useful practice for any future interviews'Better to ask a silly question than to make a silly mistake' Elliebee's Mum

Hi everyone, after getting a reply from my ASM saying there's no more territory in my area I've been thinking of other ways I canmake a bit of extra cash.Been looking at Betterware as from what I can see there's no outlay and you don't have to pay for books. Just wondered if anyone else does it as well as Avon and if they work around each other. i seem to be building up a good customer base with Avon so don't want to take too much on and perhaps jepordise that but I do need to make a bit more extra cash (don't we all lol!). From what I've read on the betterware thread people seem to be making between £20 and £50 a week which would be great as it would pay for my eldest's pre school fees when he starts in April! Does anyone have any experience of doing both together?Proud wife to a soldier and mummy to two gorgeous boysDealing with our Debt Barclaycard £2022.98 RBS £1249.86 Next £183.03September Groceries £120/£102.05:( September Packed Lunches 22/6Sealed Pot Challenge #9940
