WELLLL.... That puts pay to recanvassing for a while! :(:(:(:(:(

I knocked a cup of tea over the laptop id borrowed off my dad. Its now broken and ive lost the last 5 months worth of avon stuff! Until my exBIL (who doesnt live in liverpool) can come down again and get everything off the motherboard for me.

Means im stuck with a computer print out of my regulars but thats it. No idea of any other addresses i.e. who is not interested or who just hasnt ordered.

Moral of the story.... DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BACKUPS IF YOU USE A COMPUTER BASED CALLING BOOK :(:(:(:(:(

i have 100 shrinkwrapped and 100 other c8 books i needed to put out today to make final use of them.. oh well £11 at least wasted.

Moral of the story.... WHEN YOU PLAN TO RECANVASS SO BUY EXTRA BOOKS - DO IT ASAP.. COS YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN. :(:(:(

off to kick myself harshly and then try figure some kinda plan out...

Johanne, sitting here trying to work out how to help you. I don't know anyone that close to you that could help with laptop. The only thing that might be of help, and this is a big might. There is a volunteer group called Timebank. http://www.timebank.org.uk/volunteer/index.php You could send them a request if there is anyone in your area IT literate that could help you. In return you would just need to register to volunteer WHENEVER you were able to.

I am registered with my local Timebank and so far have offered my services on a number of occasions but someone else has beaten me to it.

    otherwise ((((((((((((((((((((Johanne)))))))))))))))))))))))))))

    thanks girls.

aureol thanks for the suggestion but exBIL has now said he will visit next weekend with the appropriate kit :)

In the meantime i have had an idea.... the "unused" books are going to be prepped with a recanvass slip that covers people who have said they arent interested and i am going to drop them to EVERY house except my regulars on the bit of old territory i have that ive been recanvassing on and off for 18 months. Means i'll be dropping to not interested and people whove never ordered in that time... BUT im getting my name out there as a rep so not a total waste as even if i generate no orders someone might just mention to one these people they need a rep...

Not sure where to go from there..... but hopefully that will cover this week and then i can plan from there.

Can anyone help me. I have a rep who on her first campaign ordered a tenners worth of stuff (Thought shed start propperly next time and just order her own stuff this time) Anyway its added the £7.50 registration fee so shes decided its really not worth her ordering and ahe doesnt want to do it anmore anyway.
If she cancels her agreement within the 14 days and returns the goods will she still have to pay the £7.50 fee?

do you have a script or anything you use?? Im really shy and wouldnt know how to start with a party thing.... plus i dont have any female friends so would probably be thrown straight in at the deep end with strangers.. but parties does seem a good route to go down..

I dont have a script. I just take all of my demo and samples. Put out on a table. Write name of perfume/aftersahve on reverse of folded business card(think place name card on wedding table) and dot the fragrance on the right card. This way they can see quite clearly what the fragrance is called and it just leaves me squinting away like a woman possessed to find the right sample to try on skin. I have some spare glue dots, so will be sticking to underside of card from now on. Saves hunting.

All I do is aks them what they like, if there is anything they would like to try.......

Once you get one up to her elbows in make up they all soon follow.

I find that they sell to each other and I sell very little........

I do always put on a really good raffle prize (well they think that they are good and usually cost me about £5-6 which i normally make £20 or so on.

But I just walk the room with something in my hand and encourage to try. My first party I was a bag of nerves, but it went fine and now Im really comfortable.

PM if you want, Ill give you my mobile number for a chat if you would like to and ask me anything you want, Ill try to help.

It really does help me get my figures up. (Some parties I do give the hostess a cut of the commission, but It does get me new customers, does get my Avon business 'out there' and they do talk about having had an excellent time.

Lots of customers come for a chance to go through the book without hubby and or kids so they relax. Relaxed customers are happy customers who inevitabley, spend more!

Good luck with the laptop, try drying it out next to a radiator and see if that helps. Must admit, I stick to the old fashioned calling book!

Hi Mel, I have been trying to look up the answer for you, but can't find it, I think she will have to pay the £7.50 fee but email the Sales Leaders team and they can tell you.

Best suggestion is to check with the SL Helpline. Am guessing that provided she returns everything and does resign within 14 days then she could then leave it and start again in a few campaigns time if she wanted to but got to admit am really not sure.

When you do find out, could be useful to post up on here for other's future ref.?

Ok, I know that one of you ladies was looking for some Loose Powder for one of your customers. We did talk about it on here not that long ago, but I cant find the thread.

Anyway, point of the matter is this
    HT11, clearance

    Its in the back......
    IDEAL SHADE LOOSE POWDER
    62018 light medium
    67892 Fair.
    £3.50 each, normally £8 apparently.

Cant remember if was Marsden, Money Maker or Aureol...

    Anyway I hope it helps.

Wow lucyclare, thats amazing!! Congratulations!! It definatley sounds like parties are the way to go. We are going away this week but on my return I am going to try and get sorted. I'm sure the first one is daunting but reckon once that one is done it'll get easier? Fingers crossed! Apologies if this is a daft question but what is LOA8?

Johanne, what a nightmare for you hun! We are going away this week or I would have offerred to help. Am only in Warrington and used to work in IT. I couldn't cope without my laptop and now know I need to start backing up! hope you get it sorted soon.
