A stripey scarf for my dad but I got a bit carreid away & it took on Dr who proportions:rotfl:At least I only dropped one stitch & didnt' need to add loads of ribbions, he wouldn't have thanked me for that!
And now I'm working on a christmas stocking for my son, if it works I plan to make a few more & give a pressies with a small toy in to a few freinds children.
No point me doing fancy fluffy scarves, Hubbys aunt did them for most of the family last year, with matching [STRIKE]teacosys[/STRIKE] hats:o

this website:

has good instructions, but I've got a book by Debbie Bliss, which gives really clear instructions (Baby knits for beginners).
Charity shops are really good for needles, and £ shops v good for wool, but I went into our local haberdashers today, and got some beautiful fluffy wool for £2.99 so it's not that expensive at regular shops.
Good luck!

Thanks for that0 -
Please can I add this to your thread? I'm sure one of you will be able to help me.
I can't find a wool braid to edge a mohair jacket I want to make, and think I may have to knit one.
I need a length of 6 yards, about an inch and a half wide, and I'd like to use the biggest needles I could get away with.
How much mohair yarn do you think I would need?
Thank you.0 -

Hi:rotfl: :rotfl:
Does anyone know of a simple knitting pattern for a fluffy scarf?
And can anyone tell me how easy fluffy wool is to knit with?
Also how easy is the bobbly wool to knit with?
I enjoy knitting things that don't need too much concentration so that I can pick up and put down as necessary.
Thanks in advance:T

I'm making some and I got my pattern from the Lion Brand website (you have to sign up for their free newsletter to access the free patterns). As a beginner, I've found it very easy to knit up and work with. I'm using Sirdar "Fizz" for one of the scarves and a combo of Sirdar "Vegas" for another and an equivalent to the Lion Brand "Fun Fur" for yet another.
Because they use large needles, it works up really quickly and doesn't take a lot of concentration~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
