I am addicted to knitting and it would be a challenge to get me to stop! I like the idea of finishing the scarves though and wish everyone good luck!0

I'll drop in again when I'm ready to go, I'm just approaching turning the heel and then I've just got to wizz down to the toe. Should be ready with fluffy wool on Monday!
Ooohhh I get to go to the wool shop... now that could be expensive and not very MSE but I will be restrained!0 -

Hi
A couple of weeks ago, someone sugested a knitting a scarf for Christmas challenge and I said I'd join in when I finished my socks.
Socks are now done (took a tiny bit longer than expected) and are in the Christmas pressie box, so I'm all ready and eager to cast on.
I've got my wool and needles so am I already behind or is it a case of " On your Marks, Cast on, Knit"0 -
Hi dumpy,
Good to hear you've finished the socks.........I'll merge your thread into LizD's knitting challenge now.

I've just started one last night, I've only done 2 rows of it though, can I still join in?
Ooops just spotted the date of the thread, I guess everyone else has finished theirs.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hi ,
I love knitting and find it very theraputic as it is so relaxing. My friend and I knit for the Linus Project which is a charity for knitting blankets for children who have been involved in all sorts of dreadful things in their lives .When the tsunami struck in asia Project Linus helped to supply blankets for kids who owned nothing but the clothes they stood up in. Often the children are from different parts of the world and a simple thing like a blanket is all they own. Have a look at www.projectlinus.org and follow the link to the U.K. affiliate site .The blankets don't have to be very big and are very easy to knit using up any scraps of spare wool that you may have left over. By the end of July this year over 58 thousand blankets were donated to the charity. My fireind and I and a couple of others knit the squares and sew them together and when we have enough we take them to our local co-ordinator. It is a great way to use up wool that is left over from things that you have made and if it gives a child somewhere a small bit of comfort then think of what your little blanket square can do.Have a go if you can or log on to the site and see what happens to all the little squares that women ,(and men ) have knitted.0 -
