My cat has gone missing - HE'S HOME - PICS ON PAGE 3

Awww....hope your cat turns up soon. A cat of mind went missing for 6 weeks which was awful! I put up pictures everywhere offering a reward and finally someone called me. He was severely underweight and dehydrated but all was well after a visit to the vets! I've always had moggies before but now have pedigrees and I seem to be worrying about them far more!? We have just ordered some brackets & netting from a cat fencing company which will hopefully be able to contain them in the garden. When I changed the address on their chip information I 'upgraded' the membership to include 'Locate' - which basically means that should one of them go missing, I just call one number and they contact everyone that needs contacting in my area, etc.
Anyhow, I digress! I would recommend the vacuum bag contents idea....
Fingers and everything else crossed for you hun

Lots of good ideas and hopefully it will help you remain positive.
I would definitely try waiting until later in the night tp call as he is more likely to respond when there is not so much background noise. Empty your hoover bag outside your door in case he has forgotten how to get home. Try leaving out some smelly food overnight and maybe put a cardboard box near the food with one of his blankets in.
I hope he comes home soon - don't give up hope!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -

I'm so sorry, but don't give up.
My cat went missing for 4 days last year, never found out where he had been, I had done everything, registering, posters etc, put hoover contents in back garden along with smelly trainers and by day 3 I thought
I would never find him again and he was at RB.
Strangely after the second poster run he appeared at 3am in the morning so don't give up hope xxx0 -
Ps have you registered as lost on My.moggy.com?
Thats quite good0 -
I've booked George in for chipping this afternoon.
Please can I urge anyone who hasn't got their chipped to do so ASAP.
It won't stop them going missing, but it might help you get them back. Plus you won't be kicking yourself when things are bad enough anyway without that added onto things.0 -
My heart goes out to you. Never give up When I moved to Scotland my lovely old boy went missing from the house and THREE months later I learned that a neighbour took him in & we were reunited. I have my three now microchipped but learnt the hard way. I keep saying no more but then the house is so empty. Julie X0

On a side note, one of the houses my daughter called at said "I shot cats that come in my garden, but I haven't shot him".
Is this something I could go to the police with?
Is it ilegal to shot cats that come into your garden? I'm guessing he meant with an air rifle.
I'm glad my husband didn't knock at that door, thats all I would need at the moment.0 -
Don't despair.....despite the cold temperatures, spring is in the air and moggies get the urge to go wandering and adventuring. MOST cats come back safe and sound. Keep on going out searching....wait on doorsteps while people check garages and sheds, now is not the time to be shy!
Good luck.0 -

Yes, tell the Police - why on earth would you not? If nobody tells them what this person is doing to animals then they will never know. If it's not a police matter they will tell you, but cruelty is a criminal offence. He cannot defend his behaviour if it is true.
BTW put a poster up on a telegraph pole close to his house where he can't miss it. Something along the lines of beautiful family pet missing, much loved, part of the family, family/children/grandchildren heartbroken, etc etc. If he's got a heart....
If it's any solace when any of my kitties are missing I keep telling myself that when there is no evidence that the kitty is dead then there is hope. I mean that in the most positive way and encourage you to not give up.0
