My cat has gone missing - HE'S HOME - PICS ON PAGE 3

My cat has gone missing.
DH let the out on Monday morning before he went to work & Charlie didn't come back.
Charlie didn't go out much, maybe once or twice a week.
I didn't start worrying till Monday evening.
We phoned every vets & animal rescue/charity in the local area & put up posters & knocked on doors. I've asked lots of dog walkers & horse riders as our garden has a bridal path behind it.
I also contacted the council-street cleaners & they haven't seen him.
He's a pedigree & a bit unusual looking which makes me worried someone may have stolen him, but I'm hoping he's stolen rather than injured.
He's been gone since dawn on Monday, I really think I won't see him again:( If he was more used to going out I think I would have more hope....
Has anyone got an stories to give me a bit of hope?

I'm so sorry to hear that
One of my cats went missing for a couple of days, like yours he hardly ever went out. I was out of my mind with worry and then he just appeared as if nothing had happened. I still have no idea where he had been.
It sounds like you've covered most of the things I would have suggested, there are comprehensive guides for missing cats on www.catchat.org/lost.html and also www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php?topic=305.0
I hope he comes home soonHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Keep checking in local free ads, gumtree etc, if he has been stolen you may find him advertised for sale. It happened to a friend of mine whos dog went missing, she sent a friend who posed as a buyer and stole him back!
Register him missing on the National Missing Pet Register.
Empty the contents of your vacuum cleaner in your garden, if hes near by he will be able to smell his way home.
I've heard thats its better to go out looking for him of an evening, when its quiter, after dark. And only ever call him when you are heading back towards your house, not walking away from your house.
Hope he comes home soon! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
Is he microchipped?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

we went and found our cat who was let out one morning still missing at 10pm (who doesn't go out after dark) by shouting him a bit later, it's quieter, we heard him meow and he was trapped in a garage.
We found who the garage belonged to and explained, they said they'd just gone to bed (to which I thought and I'm getting my cat out of there one way or another!) I bought the couple a box a chocolates for their trouble the next day.0 -
Sorry to hear about Charlie...
The only time our cat went missing was after we had friends over who brought thier doggy. Our cat was missing for a couple of days. She never used to go very far at all. We ended up walking around the houses that are very near to our house and calling her name. We would go a few yards, call her name a couple of times and then listen. On one occasion we called out and we heard her meow back.
After a couple of minutes of us calling again, she appeared and we all went home!!
We must have looked like fools walking the streets calling the cat's name, but we didn't care.
That is about the only other thing I can think of trying as you appeared to have done everything else.
Good luck...0 -
Is he microchipped?
No, I was shilly shalling about thinking of getting a Pet Porte (microchip cat flap) & I wanted to make sure I got the one that worked best with the cat flap (Its a bayer tracer).
Thats why I didn't get it done before, I was going to get it done on their next jabs:(:(:(:(
Its the first time I've ever had a cat (since chips came out) & not put one in asap. You think it will be ok till you next go........0 -
Just spoke to the RSPCA local lady, she was the only one I didn't track down yesterday.
She said theres a marked rise in cat disappearances this time of year, the foxes are feeding their young & their aren't enough rabbits about:(:(:(:(:(:(:(0 -

I really wouldn't worry too much about that, it is very rare for a fox to take on a cat, especially a healthy one.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I'd definitely recommend walking around your neighbourhood shouting Charlie's name. You never know, he may just appear from somewhere.
I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of a microchip, provided you keep in contact with the local vets / cat protection league etc they will let you know if he turns up.
We're thinking of you...0 -
