Somone coming into my house...

Hi Alyth,
I've been reading but haven't posted as you'd had such good advice already!
You are now probably the safest that you ever have been, and I'm sure the police will be keeping an eye on your place.
I'm also certain that if the worst happened and you were physically threatened then your dog would defend. Mine always did against his own master (my xh).
Just don't let all this ruin your obviously happy life, and I'm sure pretty soon you'll be able to put it all behind.0 -
Hi Alyth, just read this and i really feel for you, you are so brave and i am glad you are ok.
If it is the old man then i wonder if he does miss your dog?
I used to live on my own and my home was my sanctuary so the thought of something like this must feel truly awful.
Hope everything is well with you and your rottie x0 -
This makes me wonder really. I may be totally crazy here but.. maybe he just has a bond with your dog and was willing to sneak behind your back to see it? Though Im sure you would have let him see it anyway if you had known he wanted to so badly!Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0

If he was just coming into Alyths home because of the dog - he wouldnt have gone upstairs to her bedroom, moved her things around etc. It could be the man was lonely and desperate to have female things around him - but at the same time at the very least any normal person would understand that its a Gross invasion of privacy and wouldnt do it. hopefully the police will have made him see the error of his ways and he wont attempt any further contact. Alyth, my advice when you see is to not even speak to him. blank him totally if you have to. I sincerely hope this puts and end to this for you Alyth. now you have to learn to trust again, both your friends and your home, your new security measures will help with your home.0

I did wonder about his bond with my dog - he really does/did love her. But no, he was absolutely moving things about and playing mindgames with me. I had a chat with my student advisor (sound stupid saying that at my age!) today about it, but apart from one friend he's the only person I have told.
The more I think about it the more it's been going on for probably at least 18 months, I had a nice/weird chat with the married guy today as well, he said he's no idea where the key was, voiced the same fears he'd voiced before about the old guy, and he's more than happy to speak to the police.
Weird things keep popping into my head, that he must have been involved with - A teddy bear once appeared in my garage that only he could have put there. To put this in context I have no friends that come to the house and my parents live miles away and rarely visit. He was the person that always looked after the dog.
I do feel safer now, but I suspect he will come into the shop on Saturday which is going to be very awkward. I will though just totally blank him, I have no intentions of ever speaking to him again, but can't jeopardise my job by being rude to a customer.
As always thank you all again, I will now lose myself in the German Wars of Unification!!0 -
I'm sure if you exlpain to your employer or another member of staff I'm sure they would understand though if this guy has any conscience at all he won't EVER come near the shop again!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Pigpen what we can do, and to be honest is done by some of the others, is to leave the front shop bit and someone else will serve - it's done by the juniors sometimes if they want to avoid serving any of their friends!
All quiet so far but unfortunately the German Wars of Unification is not holding my interest!0 -
Alyth - I've just read this post and although I don't have anything constructive to add, I wanted to say well done for how well you're coping. Far better than I ever could. Glad the locks are changed and you did go to the police.
I had a few tears just reading what you went through.
Good luck for the future, wish I could study as well as you..!

Having experienced the unalloyed joy of being followed and constantly bumping into someone and not realising what was going on until something way beyond odd happened, I can understand how you feel. Weird, isn't it ?
Howsomever.........things never remain the same, how you feel today and this week isn't how you will feel in a while when everything has started to settle down a bit, an the suprise and upset of what has happened recedes away.
Stick your head in your books and when your mind starts to wander, point it in the direction of the Schleswig Holstein question
Best wishes.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
