Tbh it would be a carp advertising ploy for them to say they were worse then other supermarkets ?

It's mostly 6 of one and half a dozen of the other!!!!!

Yes you do have to keep an eye on the prices, but I have found that Sainsbury is always particularly good on melons and own brand cheese (must have a good buyer for these!). Their bakery and deli stuff is also very nice.

Anyway, I shop there because my local Tesco brings me out in a rash; the car park is a mess, the lights are harsh and their tiger bread is just plain awful compared with Sainsbury's!!!!

You only get the best by Shopping around in my opinion.

I like Sainsburys, but don't do my 'big shop' there. I do pop in every now and again for bits and bobs and some of their special offers.

What I like about Sainsburys is that they sell a lot of British Meat (unlike some other Supermarkets).

Sainburys barn Eggs are £1.85 for a large box of 18, Tesco/Mossisons prices for Eggs can't beat that. Also last week Sainburys had different fruit and veg on special offer at 30p per pack

From my experience Sainsburys Customer Service is also very good (unlike Tesco/Morrisons imo!)

Sainsburys gets the thumbs up from me! :)

Skoda, VW and Audi are basically he same cars but prices are massively difference. It comes down to branding, marketing, supply and demand, procurement and staffing policies. Personally I like Sainsburys and once the OU/Clubcard scheme winds down I will be shopping there much more. Sainburys have better range of ethical products, especially compared to TESCO.

Personally I reckon that the reason why Audi charge so much as they only like undertaking, cutting up, speeding drivers drive there cars.

last week morrisons had fairy original 50th anniversary washing up liquid on at 59p now tesco have it on at £1.19 bogof sainsburys also have it on at (marked at special offer!) 2 for £2  its simply a matter of cherry picking the best deals at the different supermarkets i am lucky enough that i have all 3 supermarkets within reasonable distance and soon will be near a new asda although i know not everybody has this much choice which is where the rotten prices really go against the customer. it takes me a bit more time to go to each supermarket for different items but its a round trip so i dont waste extra petrol and it means i can mostly stay on top of my very tight budget.

We have sainsburys, Waitrose and Marks and spenser also a small coop/somerfield.

Sainsburys Its ok i cherry pick my shopping by best offers and value ranges. Vegetables are hit and miss but red onions loose are always mouldy looking. I am sure they dispense them from the bagged ones as soon as they are out of date. Bagged ones which would take us months to eat look lovely. reductions on near date are rubbish here.

Marks and Spencer delish love most of the food they have some great offers and vouchers about. 6 weeks or so ago i got a bag of frozen salmon fillets 8 in a pack on bogof i wish i had bought more. There was a voucher in one of those little leaflet type things in store for money off when you spent over £25 with the bogofs i picked up i spent £22 on £38 worth of food. Not seen any good vouchers recently.

Waitrose i love i find they have some good comparable offers to sainsburys but even better quality. If i am town i mooch about looking for reductions as there is always something good. Their value ranges are quite good as well. When they bring in new ranges you can quite often pick up old packaging stuff very cheap i had a 6 pack of crisp for 50p last week but still months in date. The chocolate ranges are always being really reduced i should probably stay away from those.

99p store is good for tinned fruit (quite often 2 for 99p), crisps, lunchbox fillers. They have high quality pannatonne (spelt wrong i know! those huge italian fruit cake/bread things) that are to die for. Tuna i buy as its cheaper than most other places, they have the john west tuna with french dressing 2 for 99p this week that is lovely.Hot chocolate they have galaxy which my kids love.

Our Sainsburys is O.K. in terms of customer service, but Tesco definitely compares well.
But our Sainsburys does not have a great choice of anything. With veg & fruit it is absolutely rubbish and very expensive. However when they have something on offer, it is proper worth it offer. So I shop mainly at Tesco, occassionaly at Asda and here and there I pop into Sainsburys.

I use M&S credit card to get vouchers for M&S and buy their wine online (last time with various codes I got the order down to £2.90 a bottle!!) and buy their ready made meals for emergencies and biscuits for my OH because he loves M&S biscuits. Usually pay for those by vouchers I get from them for paying for everything by their credit card though.

I don't think I've ever even been to Waitrose!! Would be interested to go though.

I like Sainos because the poor people cannot afford to shop there and therefore I can shop without having to deal with the great unwashed.

    :eek::D

There you go - about as much sense as the rest of the whole thread.

It's not difficult. If it's too expensive vote with your feet. If Shopping was just about cost, Harrods would have gone under years ago and we'd all shop at Asda.

Think its a mixed bag. I have set items I go shopping for, (basic things like value tissues, frozen green beans, Quorn Pieces, Skimmed Craveldale) can pick these up from any supermarket.
I can't count the volume of times I've gone to Tesco and they are out of stock. If I had 1p for every time, I'd be shopping Waitrose now (with M&S when I got bored). But Sainsburys have what I need in most of the time (like 4 out of every 5 times).

Also the customer service can be better (it can also be worse with staff throwing my apples down the till point) but at least if I complain about anything to Sainsburys head office, something gets done about it. With Tescos they never do anything with your complaints but a half hearted apology at best.

I find the fresh meat in Sainsburys much better than Adsa's or Tesco's.. especially Asda's. I very often find the mince pork from Asda smelling off even a day before its use by date when the ones from Sainsburys are still fine 2 days after! yes meat gone off before its use by dates will be refunded but will need to call them on that day when I found the problem so they can log it, and then I have to freeze the smelly meat and take it back the next weekend and to come up with something else for the meal, what a hassle! Sainsburys for me everytime if I can help it, though I do nip into the others when I'm in the area or need a specific thing only they do (like the brilliant frozen chopped garlic from Asda!)
