Sainsburys - Absolute Joke/Expensive

Where do Sainsburys get off on thinking they are so much better than other supermarkets
Over the last few years i've noticed that everything you buy is always dearer than in other stores.
Two examples i noticed recently (and i'm sure there are plenty of others)
Asda 8 pack of Smiths Frazzles £1.16
Sainsburys £1.89
Asda/Tesco Glens Vodka 1 litre bottle £11.38
Sainsburys £12.48
Thats some mark up on both those products
From my personal experience Sainsburys are no better than any other supermarket

You have a choice not to shop there.0

And i exercise that choice by not shopping there
But why the so high prices?0 -
Because people pay it.0

Greed i imagine, however for me i find their basics range better value and quality than some other supermarkets. (compared to tesco and asda)0 -

Why does anywhere price things the level they do ?
Because people will pay those prices. You dont like it, you don't shop there. End of0 -
......thinking they are so much better than other supermarkets......
I don't think they're better than other supermarkets at all. Whenever possible, I much prefer either Waitrose or Marks & Sparks. Both of them I'm afraid are a bit more pricey than Sainsbury's but I'd much rather use them. My local Sainsbury's is a by-word locally for bare shelves, bad customer relations and an all-round lousy shopping experience.0 -
I love sainsburys and i always shop there, you just have to know what to buy in there and what not. I think tescos is really expensive, plus the staff are so rude in the tescos by me i walked out and left a trolly full of items due to the absolute rudeness of their member of staff.
I couldnt find an item so i asked a lady that worked their where something was, she didnt acknowledge me but huffed and dropped the crates on the floor and under her breathe i heard her say 'for f***s sake' and she stomped over to where the item was pointed at it and then walked off.
Thought im not putting up with that, went to the customer service desk to complain about her, the lady there said who is, and she will report them to their team leader, i took her to where she was, pointed her out and the response i got was, thats the supervisor! Was told i would need to complain to head office then, so i walked out!.
Never shop in their again.0 -
Maybe they are trying to help those with a vodka problem/frazzles addiction to cut down? ;P0

I think all the supermarkets have different products that are much more expensive than elsewhere, so if you can always best to shop around for best offers. Both my local Sainsburys offer the best customer service, with friendly staff & well stocked shelves. Morrisons and Asda are the next best with Tesco the worst by far. Only venture into Tesco if an offer is too good to miss. It probably varies across the country though.Rare Disease Day28 February 2013 is Rare Disease Day.Raise awareness for patients, families and carers whose lives are affected by rare diseases worldwideUnited we are stronger0
