Thank you so much for your opinions guys i really do apprecate it. Am glad most of you didnt notice until you read my explanation made me feel a little better. If you never noticed then what is to say my guests will??! Think i may just get away with it. I really just cant part with my shoes. The amount of hours i spent tracking them down because of them being a discontinued line was just stupid and not only that the price i paid for them aswel (£120) - I know not very :money:really but i just :heartsmil them so muchI have been told by my dress lady that the shoe height is vital, my dress is an ex-sample, so I have to find shoes with the right heal height to match it, and I have had my beautiful 4" rainbow heels turned down by her for the same reasons as your lady is saying. I have to say, on my dress, I did agree with her, but it is difficult to see how much your dress is off the ground.
The people in the shops do know what they are talking about (in my experience) but at the end of the day, it is your wedding, so you do what you want to do! I suppose it will only show more of your shoes, which are, as everyone has said, stunning!
xLovely dress and shoes. It does look to short to me so sorry. Were you wearing a petticoat with that or is it netting etc? Could you try it with less so it lengthens it? Maybe start a new thread so a certain dressmaker will see it and comment.FlowerPower wrote: »I think the dress and shoes are lovely. I didn't notice in the picture either, until it was pointed out. I doubt people would notice on the day either - it's your day, and if those shoes make you happy, I reckon you should go for it.
loving the invites & piccies that have gone up! And thanks for the welcome, can't believe I have so many date twins!!
we're sorting the cake out tonight - it's going to be stacks of "parcels" in ivory and blue! yay!!!
what do people do for flowers? Has anyone used foam flowers? I found a gorgeous flowergirl bouquet with foam roses on ebay, but not sure whether to bid or not, in case I can't match them up with the other flowers... hmm:T Became Mrs Allison on 23rd April 2011

Thanks to you guys too - just read my message above as i couldnt multi-quote them all xLove your dress..shoes..very high but also very nice...does the dress look funny...well personally I never noticed until I read the explaination.Possibly as there is a slight lift at the front of the dress this may be why they are saying the heels are too high if you were to have a lower heel then presumably the front of the dress would just skim the floor?...but im afraid im no expert..from personal expererience though do do need to be comfortable in your shoes as you stand up a lot that day...but if youre used to that size heel then stick with it.
From a photographic point of view when the dress lifts a little at the front then sometimes it can give the illusion of a "floating" bride..or appear as if you are hovering..this comes out a lot in pictures where you are stood on steps...so that may be something to bear in mindMrs_Moore_To_Be wrote: »Im with LEJC, I hadnt noticed until I read the explanation. LOVE the shoes too. Im also no expert, but I hadnt noticed at all until you said what you did, so guess it wouldnt be an issue for me?
Your dress looks amazing on you BTW tooWhite_Sapphire wrote: »The hem of the dress does sit a little higher than normal, although it would need to sit around a centimetre above the floor at the front anyway otherwise you're in danger of falling over it onto your face (so not a good look).
It's difficult to see from the angle the photo was taken from how high off the floor the hem is - I'd say if it's more than 1 and a half centimetres it might look a bit short in the photos, although if you are wearing flatter shoes for the reception you might have the opposite problem of the hem dragging on the floor.
Maybe you could find a slightly lower heel, perhaps even low enough that you don't have to change them for the reception, and keep the ones you have (which, by the way, kick @ss) for the hen night/rehearsal dinner/1st wedding anniversary/all of the above.

Foofighter I'm so pleased you chose the Sincerity - I liked that one the best, and the thing I liked, was the capped sleeves too - I hadn't even read at that stage that that was the one you had chosen - you're going to look stunning!
Bride2be24 I don't know whether this is an option, but have you taken the shoes to a cobblers and asked if the heels can be shortened? They may be able to take off an inch, and then they would be perfect.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

I collected my dress yesterday and because there is a very intricate embroidered hem and its not too long on me I have been told by my dress alterations lady to buy higher heels. V glum as have two pairs of lush 3" heels and I cant walk in anything higher! I live in flats and also really hate platforms as I like to be able to bend the soles.
Hopefully we might be able to lift the dress a bit on the straps but I wont know if we can untill I lose more weight (and guarranteed my large boobs wont shrink!).
I dont think the grooms have this amount of hassle...0 -
OMG, my dog had a puppy last night  :j
How am I EVER going to get any wedding-y stuff done when I have a puppy to play with?!!0 -

The reason i am asking is because when i went for my fitting i had my wedding shoes on with the dress
and the shop assistant who was my fitter said that my shoes were to high and you could tell by my dress. Am gutted as i really cannot part with my shoes, i just love them too much to. Do you think i could still get away with wearing them? I am only guna be having them on until the reception as my feet wont take heels all night aswel. Feedback would be grately appreciated x
