Magic ... your idea for the wrapping of the tea towels is almost identical to what my SIL2B has decided on for the tea towels..hence me asking the question about sending them out earlier on...she is hoping to do burgundy and ivory ribbon, luggage label, info sheet...her only difference being wrapping the towel in brown paper to post with a burgundy heart or stencil on the outside...

No! :( Sammr85, I think your invites are really elegant. How long did the mock-up take you to do?

Sorry for my mini rant earlier, been feeling down the past couple of days and I don't even know y!! anyway thank u all for ur comments on my invites.

WhiteSapphire, I'd say the mock up took me an hour but most of that was fiddling about on the comp with the sizing of the font to make it all fit on the page!! I'd say to actually build it was 5 mins or so, but obviously that was no measuring or accuracy so I estimate to be able to build one properly in 10 mins.

Now all I need to do is sort out the invite wording for the evening guests, as OH wanted both day and evening guests to have the same invite *rolleye*

Jezza that colour theme is gorgeous. Me and OH are having monochrome (black and white) I'm hoping guests will all come in colour, I must remember to try and fit that info on the invites!!

Wow loving all of the pictures ladies of invites, lovely shoes, and lovely babies! Don't think I realised you were pregnant curlylou - congratulations! No more news on my wedding plans, as not a lot left to do in terms of the wedding (abroad so most stuff done for us) - got an appointment with a jewellery designer on 2nd December to see about designing my wedding band, but other than that, not a lot doing.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

I want everyone to be honest with me, Does the bottom of my dress look stupid???
    DSC02047.jpg?t=1290061179

The reason i am asking is because when i went for my fitting i had my wedding shoes on with the dress
    Dune-JAdore.jpg?t=1290061415
and the shop assistant who was my fitter said that my shoes were to high and you could tell by my dress. Am gutted as i really cannot part with my shoes, i just love them too much to. Do you think i could still get away with wearing them? I am only guna be having them on until the reception as my feet wont take heels all night aswel. Feedback would be grately appreciated x

Love your dress..shoes..very high but also very nice...does the dress look funny...well personally I never noticed until I read the explaination.Possibly as there is a slight lift at the front of the dress this may be why they are saying the heels are too high if you were to have a lower heel then presumably the front of the dress would just skim the floor?...but im afraid im no expert..from personal expererience though do do need to be comfortable in your shoes as you stand up a lot that day...but if youre used to that size heel then stick with it.

From a photographic point of view when the dress lifts a little at the front then sometimes it can give the illusion of a "floating" bride..or appear as if you are hovering..this comes out a lot in pictures where you are stood on steps...so that may be something to bear in mind

  • Im with LEJC, I hadnt noticed until I read the explanation. LOVE the shoes too. Im also no expert, but I hadnt noticed at all until you said what you did, so guess it wouldnt be an issue for me?

Your dress looks amazing on you BTW too :D

  • The hem of the dress does sit a little higher than normal, although it would need to sit around a centimetre above the floor at the front anyway otherwise you're in danger of falling over it onto your face (so not a good look :p).

It's difficult to see from the angle the photo was taken from how high off the floor the hem is - I'd say if it's more than 1 and a half centimetres it might look a bit short in the photos, although if you are wearing flatter shoes for the reception you might have the opposite problem of the hem dragging on the floor.

Maybe you could find a slightly lower heel, perhaps even low enough that you don't have to change them for the reception, and keep the ones you have (which, by the way, kick @ss :D) for the hen night/rehearsal dinner/1st wedding anniversary/all of the above.

  • I have been told by my dress lady that the shoe height is vital, my dress is an ex-sample, so I have to find shoes with the right heal height to match it, and I have had my beautiful 4" rainbow heels turned down by her for the same reasons as your lady is saying. I have to say, on my dress, I did agree with her, but it is difficult to see how much your dress is off the ground.
The people in the shops do know what they are talking about (in my experience) but at the end of the day, it is your wedding, so you do what you want to do! I suppose it will only show more of your shoes, which are, as everyone has said, stunning!
