those invites are lush!! Wish I had known about those but i've got all ours made and ready to send out!
Right girls, this might sound completely INSANE but I have left my dress hunting till the last minute. I planned on not going until I lost a lot of weight (I'm a plus size bride!) but we have had so much family drama the past 6 months and it never happened, if anything I have put ON weightSo I had to bite the bullet and make some appointments at various places this week. I am going for my first dressing shopping with my Mam tomorrow but I'm nervous as anything, not only do I feel panicked about leaving it so late - the girls in the shop have assured me if I was to find my dress in there shop they would do everything to make sure I got it in time, I am also so self conscious! Back fat, arm fat chin fat, lol you name it I've got it and it's making me panic!!!
Everything to do with our wedding is now in full swing after many months of no progress, I'm all excited about it again - I just hope we can plan it all in time lol!! I can't wait to look back and think "we did it"Hope I have found a thread I can feel at home in and discuss everything going on in the next few months! x

The 1st shop I went in to didnt really help to be honest, I felt a bit better, but not much. I did have a wee cry at one point(but didnt tell!), but the second shop..............a world of difference!!! The ladies made me feel so at ease, suggested styles that would suit my shape, and helped me find THE dress - it gave me a flat tummy, big boobs (I couldnt really say no could I!:rotfl:), and for the first time in a long lomg time, I actually felt that I was beautiful! The ladies were brutally honest, encouraging, funny and just made me feel great. I even let the lady measure me in just my undies (poor woman!). If you chose the right shop, with the right staff, you will leave feeling on top of the world, I promise!! sending you lots of love and luck for tomorrow. And rememebr, to hell with what anyone else thinks, your H2B thinks you are the most stunning girl he has ever met, and he would be right!:j0 -

I snapped at my mum in the morning, was all out of sorts and actually quite frightened about going. I have huge (no pun intended!) body issues, and am particulary paranoid about my double chin and jelly belly.

omg love thank you so much! Serioulsy I'm gonna send you a PM for making me feel so good! At the end of the day you are right, I shouldn't really worry about what other people think I guess I am just all over the place tonight with nerves. I have been up and down with my weight my whole life and anyone coming to the wedding will know that anyway. I guess I just want to look my best, damn nerves!!!
The place I have booked an appointment for tomorrow is supposed to be good for making us plus size girls feel amazing and thats what I always wanted. I have heard some awful stories from a friend who walked into a shop in Newcastle city centre and was made to feel so large at a size 18, I swore to myself I would never let anyone make me feel the way she did when this was such a special thing for me.
I will definitely report back on my experience and I will link to the bridal company if it is all I hope for, i hope it is
Thank you again! xxx0 -
aw you are more than welcome! I wanted you to know that no matter what you feel like today, when you find the right dress, those feelings will be blown away! I can't wait to hear how you get on!!:j x0

Hello and Congratulations to all the April brides.
Can I join please? I'm getting married in Cornwall on 16th April 2011. We got engaged on my birthday this October and have been together for 4.5 years.
I've been lurking for a while but I have just made my first wedding purchase of these lovely shoes and wanted to tell people as it's very exciting. I haven't decided on any dresses or really looked yet, but I fell in love with these shoes that were only £30 on the Rachel Simpson Outlet site that someone posted a link to on here yesterday. I'm sure they will go with most dresses and if i find better ones I'll sell them!0 -

thanks for the welcome. We're kind of underway. We have booked the venue for the ceremony and reception, nothing paid yet, but its on an estate in cornwall and Dad knows the owner so it's confirmed, we have the registrar provisionally booked to come and do the ceremony and are going to give notice tommorrow so when that is all complete we can confirm with him.
I am very lucky as my parents are putting money in for the venue and the catering, they're very foodie and supply top restaurants with fruit and veg so should be able to sort out good food. I also do a bit of work for some friends who put on events (festivals and weddings) and they are letting us use all of their equipment (marquee, bar, dancefloor, tables etc) for free. One of my oldest friends is a professional photograpgher and is doing all the pics as a present and another good friend is a TV and Film make up artist. My one of my bridesmaid is very good with hair so is doing mine. So all in all, I'm doing quite well! We've not got much money so trying to do it as cheaply and free as possible.
It's all very exciting. I've yet to speak to my event planner friends about the site set up , but hopefull will do that in the next couple of weeks so we definately know what's going where and what we need to hire.
Seems to be moving along quite nicely!0
