Am needing some invite advice ladies!
Am struggling to find invites that I like, that do not cost the earth! Does anyone have any recommendations? I am not a huge fan of "traditional" invites, so any advice would be appreciated xx

The tea towel invites are from £2.75 each..so quite expensive but a lovely gift too...my SIL2B has ordered some and waiting for delivery..

The other idea she also had was to do wedding invites on a packet of seeds, she sourced some brown seed envelopes and was going to write the details on each packet before filling them with something like poppy, sunflower or wild flower seeds.

Do you have a theme to the wedding that you could use for ideas for the invites...or maybe you could think about making your own they really are quite easy to do and you can do them exactly as you want..there is a thread on here somewhere where people have posted copies of their invites as inspiration to others...have you thought about something like getting a nice photo of yourselves or a favouritre place and maybe using that?

ooo that menu sounds yummy. well I had a txt from my nan last night asking if she and my grandad could have kids meals at our wedding:eek: she said that they just don't eat that much and they don't like chicken stuffed things!! V, MSE :money:i'll give her that, but 1. I can't see TCH being happy with adults having kids meals
    2. It's only chicken breast stuffed with cheese!!

What du all think?? Can u see a company allowing an adult to have a childrens menu? Also I doubt they would drink the wine that comes with the adult price anyway.

My DD (14) is very fussy and is having the kids menu but I'm paying the adult price for a bigger portion as its not the portion size thats the problem its the menu choice!
    No harm in asking....

yes, they were my tea towels, they weren't the cheapest invites, but I do think they were value for money!
Anyway..Have you looked at Vistaprint? Can you make something out of the freebies on there? Or you could go green and just have a wedding website thing and send out emails? Not too sure how they work, I'm not the most technically minded!
I've got a half day today so am in wedding mode. Have just made an appointment to meet our (hopefully) caterers on Tuesday and am about to pick a couple of tiaras from glitzy secrets to order & hopefully keep one!

We decided on hymns last night and on our religious reading. Just need to decide on the Anthem and non religious reading. Still need to decide on entrance music too. Cant make my mind up on Trumpet Voluntary or Canon in D, as its on a pipe organ the former sounds better than the latter x

  • Morning All,
MM2B-the pliers & pokey thing were great, made everything so much easier-and I'm sure the pliers are magnetic, made fiddling with the jump ring things SO much easier!
We're having a cocktail welcome drink too! We haven't finalised the ingredients yet (that would be FAR to organised for me!) but it is going to be based on sloe gin which I have made.
I've been thinking about getting loads of bunting to decorate the marquee with, hiring it costs approx £10-15 for 10m! Does anyone know any clever ideas for either buying it cheaper or hiring it cheaper? I would think of making it, but I find sewing on a button a challenge!!
    Don't forget your handcream everyone!
