Hi Magicboo,
We are having Cosmopolitan Cocktails, my fave! Was going to have a 'mans' one too but not sure yet.
Yeah those jump rings are sooooooo fiddly!
I say make it, if you got those scissors with the 'ragged' cut, cant remember what they are called, then you can cut up old duvets, sheets, and random bits of material. If your no good with sewing you can attach it to a thick piece of long ribbon with wunderweb or fabric glue. If you go down the fabric glue route shout and ill send you mine if you want to test it! Ive got a load left over from when I did the moonwalk and decorated my bra. Depending on your colour scheme I also have some lengths of material going spare!
Thanks for the reminder - id forgotten my handcream today!
Im just writing to some celebs today, anyone see the arsenal thread? My OH doesnt like football so im writing to some other celebs... watch this space!!:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

Pinking Shears?
I did the moonwalk in 2006! I did the sunwalk in Bristol last year too! However I had a freind help me decorate my bras-but she did use that fabric glue you're mentioned. Not sure how brave I am to try it. I've just found 90m of bunting on ebay for £100. Cheaper than hiring it, but not as cheap as making it, I'm sure! But then, couldn't I re-sell it and be all MSE?!
I am trying to surreptitiously play with our invitation info sheet today at work. It is an A4 piece of card folded twice with a little star cut out in the bottom right hand corner. You fold it out once and you have a map to show you where everything is then you fold it out flat and it has all the directions/accomodation/taxi numbers etc.. I'm really pleased with them, but am having trouble placing everything in the right place and printing it the right way because one side has to be upside down!!

Haha, how odd! All these coincidences. I did it in 2007 & 2008. This year I did the Paris to Versailles race. Im now hanging up my trainers and giving my toes time to recover!
Pinking shears thats it! That sounds quite reasonable for 90meters but I reckon your own would be amazing.....
Im trying to work too but keep getting distracted by wedding stuff, and emailing celebs for the OH suprise!! x:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

My mum is making my bunting using duvet covers, tabelcloths and sheets from charity shops, plus offcuts from material shops. She is cutting the triangles out using scissors called pinking shears they are the zig zag cutting ones. the triangles are not being put double sided as will be hanging so far up I doubt if anyone will notice. They are being sewn onto hemming tape, she is using a machine but can easily done by hand.
much easier to hire in but this way is much cheaper!0 -
oooh like the sounds of everyones cocktails! We havent decided what we are having yet. My fave ever is a Bramble, but thats going to be too dear, so I think mine will be along the Cosmo lines - as for H2B, he loves JD, so I think it will be the main ingredient in his! :j0

Morning All,
We're having a cocktail welcome drink too! We haven't finalised the ingredients yet (that would be FAR to organised for me!) but it is going to be based on sloe gin which I have made.
x
I LOVE this idea. Me and OH have around 3 litres of sloe gin steeping as we speak (we make it every year and usually give it out as presents). We were originally going to go for a mulled cider as a welcome drink and then have little bottles of the sloe gin as favours but do you think it might be too warm in April for a hot welcome drink?
Were your venue ok with you bringing in your own alcohol?0 -

I have done the same as you for the last few years-given out sloe gine for Christmas-but this year we're keeping it all to save it for the wedding!! I hope it will be too warm in April for mulled cider (which is a FAB idea BTW, I might nick it and have both!) but I must admit we're going with the "it will be cold & wet" idea so we're pleasantly surprised if it's not! According to my pesimistic father, 30th April is just after a new moon, so it will be raining-cheers Daddy!!
I went to a wedding a couple of years ago that had home made sloe gin as favors, it went down (litterally!) really well! x0 -
We're over in Manchester so we always have to assume its going to throw it down! Plus ours is on a bank holiday and weather is always a bit rubbish on bank holidays. I think we'll stick with the mulled cider in principle, and then if the weather forecast is better than we expect then we can always change our mind the week before! We're getting married next door to a pub so i'm guessing that getting drinks in wont be an issue!0
