  • Aw Curly Lou - what a week you have had, must have been so stressful :(. However, its fabby that things are all fine with your wee bump - you must be so relieved! :j

Good luck with the house viewing tomorrow. I am a firm believer in what will be, will be, and all good that is for you, won't go by you:T. I will keep my fingers crossed for some good home news!
Hugs coming your way :grouphug: (sorry that the hug looks a bit....well....like something you might indulge in, in an adults only club! :rotfl:)

I have my dress, collected it a week ago but I still have those doubts! I have spent all day going through the fitting pics and comparing them to others posted on wedding forumns. Just paranoid my H2B will hate it and I'll look stupid and fat...

    arrgh dress wibbles go away!
It's not just you! So my first fitting didn't go all that well. The dress was all creased so was really hard to get a proper idea of what it will look like once it's pressed properly. It fits me like a glove (only adjustment is to the length) but...

...the thing is, I didn't realise that the samples I tried on had suffered from that repeated trying-on and that the boning has softened as a result. Therefore the busty bit is really 'pointy' and doesn't really fit to my figure, and my waist, while tiny from the front, just isn't tight enough from the side - I look a bit triangular because the boning at the back doesn't pull into my back enough. :( The seamstress said she pulled it very tightly to me but the boning just doesn't bend enough to give me a proper waist from a side profile.

Does anyone know if it's possible to "relax" the boning a bit through wear or anything to make it pull more closely to me? I'm sure part of it is just me being paranoid, but I'm quite disappointed about this whole thing - the whole point of choosing an A-line dress was to accentuate my waist, and now from side-on it looks as though I don't have a waist at all!

Boo...so now not at all sure I'm happy with my dress, but not much I can do. :( On the upside at least the petticoat I got on Ebay fitted it perfectly and when I put the tiara and veil on I did feel like a bride! Just wish I was more confident about the actual dress.

  • i ordered my brochures last night from vista so get them in time to go in invites. also got a new banner with the right date on it from vista print too. (though forgot to get nectar points so am annoyed!!)

Oohhh can I ask what sort of banner and how much it was?
have had a very stressful past week. OH had phone call last tues and got told our landlord is selling the house and moving back to leeds and we need to find somewhere new to live. i complelty broke down and was a mess. we only took this place because wanted long term let with knowing we had the wedding and wanted to be settled and especially now with baby) we worked so hard painting it nicely doing the garden. the walls and ceilings everywhere were grey!!!
so i broke down, and was a mess last week.
then i had a stupid doctors appointment to register with new practice and nurse weighed me and i noticed had lost 4lb since the monday before and i mentioned it to a girl at work and she said weight loss can be sign of miscarriage. so with that and all the stress i had over the week thats all i had in my head. no other signs at all, but i couldnt shift it. had routine midwife appointment earlier this afternoon and she just hugged me and said not to worry, and even though am 14 weeks was able to hear heart beat for few seconds before baby moved as uterus hasnt popped fully up yet out of pelvis. so i am very relived!! i also read a really good site with lots other ladies saying they lost a lot of weight and are bigger to start with, eating habits change and baby taking what are eating etc. Am so so so so relieved i can not explain!! i know everything is ok now!!
looking at a house tomo too - looks good on pictures so fingers crossed.
sorry for the rant its just OH still at work as they wouldnt let him have appointment off and got no one else at the mo to tell!!

hope everyone getting on OK with things! :D

Glad the little one is OK. Big hug from me too. Thats a pain about the landlords. We had a similar issue with ours recently, they told us they wanted a long let - even as long term as 5 years, so we moved in and signed the standard yearly one. This year they put the rent up, and when I said look thats cool but shall we sign a 2 year agreement, they said no cause they might want to sell up next year! Anyway enough about my rants, good luck with the viewing. Do let us know how it goes. :)

Oh no, unfortunately I dont know the answer to that, Linda might know if you drop her a PM or start a thread, she is very clever. :D

Oh gulp! I desperately need to write a proper "to do" list, but I keep being distracted when I start it by thinking of something I haven't done and trying to do it then!! :rotfl:
However H2B and I are off to France on Friday (me for 4 days, him for 2 weeks!) and whilst he's working, I intend to sort out lots of wedding-y things. I'm taking over all the bits for the invites and I'm going to put them together and take some magazines etc to try and get inspiration for flowers and decoration ides..
Have any of you made agreements with your suppliers about VAT? I've just realised that by postponing our meeting with the caterers to Jan, we'll have no way of trying to get the VAT at 17.5% as we have with our marquee people etc.. :( I might have to try to bring our meeting forward to this year!
    xx
  • Ive not made any agreements about VAT, just hoped that as we booked and paid deposit before the increase, I hoped that we could keep the 17.5%?

I can always share my to-do list once its completed x

Well I was meant to be going to the jewellers to get my wedding band designed this morning, but I'm guessing that they are closed due to the snow as no-one is answering the phone, and I'm not about to try and battle my way there to find there isn't anyone there. The school I'm meant to be working in this afternoon is still open though, so trying to decided whether to go or not - it would normally take me 40 minutes without the snow!
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/2017
