Ooooh thats exciting Insomniac!:j
We are off on our honeymoon on the 24th - day after the wedding! Well we fly to Gatwick, stay at the Sofitel overnight, and fly to Sicily the next day! I get wee butterflies when I think about it! I am going in my married name too, as my passport runs out this month, so to save having to pay twice I have got the forms ready for my pastor to sign, to get my passport as mrs! Had to remember to book everything with my married name. It felt really weird typing it!!
Had quite a successful day today, went to see the florist about the flowers, then whilst on the way to get a coffee with my mum, we passed an independent grocer (which has a baker and butcher within too), and they had a gorgeous wedding cake in the window. I went in to enquite about prices, got to meet the confectioner and shown some cakes. The style I had in my head, was there sitting right in front of me! We got to try sponge, choc sponge and rich fruit cakes (all of which were lush!), and when she told us the price I couldnt really say no! I am really chuffed, was going to get an M&S one and add some decoration, but this one is only £30 more, they deliver free to the venue, and lend us a sliver stand as well!:T0 -
Hi all, sounds like everyones plans r coming together nicely
Well i have now booked a DJ, I just need to pay the £100 deposit for that, so thats another thing crossed off the list. We're also going to have our menu tasting on Monday night, which I am MEGA excited aboutso once we finalise a menu we like I can finish the invites in time to get them out in early Jan:j
Total Debt at LBM - £19107.03Total now - £11091.220 -
Well I went to the goldsmith on Wednesday, and he's given me a quote to have my wedding band made. I'm having something like this (but with 7 diamonds)
made to go around my cluster engagement ring. Going back in January when he will be less busy, but he will honour the quote he gave me this week even though the VAT will go up in January.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

Hi Peeps,
Well, we've just spent 4 days in France where I took my wedding planning notebook, magazines I wanted to steal ideas from and lots of good intentions and did...zilch in terms of wedding planning!
BUT..now I'm back and I am going to get organised.
So, here is my list I intend to get through in the next week:
*find a gig for the band we think we want.
*look at ideas for canapes/pie fillings/puddings so we are ready for the caterers meeting in Jan.
*pick colours for and order the bunting
*buy the cake toppers (love yours, Honey rose!)
I'll leave it at that for the moment I think! The H2B is in France for at least another week, so hopefully I won't get distracted!
xx
I've printed off loads of canape ideas for the H2B to look through when he comes back from France and I can't find any gig dates for the band, so again will have to wait until the H2B gets back as the bass player is a mate of his.
Slowly making progress!
Also had a BM stay with me for the weekend, who told me she had put on weight so was worried her dress would be too small, but not to worry because she thought she would lose weight over lambing (she is a sheep farmer) so I made her try her dress on and it is way too big for her ! I have made her take it home with her and she is going to get it altered after lambing. I just hope the dress stays safe and in one piece!0 -
Oh no Magic Boo! hopefully it can be altered easily, I have been surprised by how much a good dressmaker can do.
Just had an email from my local church giving us the dates of the banns readings. was a bit weddingy blue but now its all very exciting!!
Incidentally H2B will conveniently miss the banns readings as he will also be busy with the lambing... looks like me and the MIL2B are off to church then.0 -

We are going to use them as 'decoration' in the field adjoining our reception venue (ie - h2b is going to move them there just before the wedding so everyone can see the fluffy little ones - nothing sinister). Plus the 16 children we have coming can help feed the orphaned ones. Was initially wanting a lamb hog roast but decided it might be a bit much for the squeamish!
Am actually more of a pig girl but none on his farm. boo.0 -
oooops just ordered a second pair of wedding shoes. I had seen them on the Rachel Simpson outlet shop before but they were £85, just seen a pair of seconds for £25, couldn't resist (usual price £145)! The first pair are Ivory and silver so quite weddingy. We are having a pink and green theme so these will be great, still not found the dress, but can always sell the shoes.....
Glad to hear all of your planning is going well. Things are kind of on hold over christmas, but we've given notice which was exciting and that's all sorted now. Honeymoon is booked thanks to my lovely sis paying for the flights and getting us a free apartment (a week in Vienna). Just need to finalise the invite list and email out the invites (have told everyone the date anyway so no hurry for that). Will need to get together at the venue in the new year and decide on the site set up and what tents we want etc. Loose a bit of weight after christmas and find a dress.
Still all very exciting. I think i'm more looking forward to the honeymoon and Being Mrs K than the actual wedding, although that will be amazing, got friends and family coming from all over the world so very exciting!
Happy planning all xxx0 -
LOVE the shoes Jezzabell!
What is eveyone doing for their henshine? One of my BMs is organising mine, but nothing seems to be moving very fast and I am getting a bit stressed out by it. I wanted to arrange it myself but was told I wasnt allowed!! There is a facebook group set up but I am not allowed to see it, but I know that she doesnt have numbers yet, hasnt told people what the rough plans are, given ideas about costs and stuff, and its all info that I think is really important for people who are intending to come, so they can work out budgets etc! Its annoying me a bit tbh. I know it makes me sound really ungrateful, but I know if I was doing it there would be a lot more sorted!:eek:0
