Many churches won't have flowers in church during Lent as it is a sacred time - leading up to Jesus's death & resurrection.
http://www.memorablewedding.co.uk/ChurchFlowers.html
"Some churches ban the use of flowers in church at specific times, such as Advent or Lent in the Christian calendar. If your wedding falls during one of these periods, consult the vicar about what decorations will be permitted."
This is why we are getting married the week after Easter - it is a joyful time in the Christian calendar, and as a bonus, the church window boxes will still be well stocked with lovely flowers
Our church is letting us have flowers, as long as we take them away with us.
I'm all planned I think, apart from a videographer.0 -
I met with my bridesmaids on Fri night and left them with the guest list for the hen do, its all out of my hands now and they are organising it all as a suprise. it will be the 1st or 2nd weekend in April. Im a nightmare - I want it to be a suprise, but also dont!
Talking of videographers Gleeful, are they expensive? I dont really want one but would like me walking down the aisle, the speeches and 1st dance filmed... x:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

My dress came today! My sister is coming later to help me try it on!
I had it made early on the off chance I didn't like it and needed to get something else, but its lush:D0 -
Just been emailing around as we need solicitors to certify our documents for us to send to Jamaica. Been quoted £150 +VAT by one solicitor! Then I got quoted £5 per document by another, but they said they'd do 3 for £10
Hopefully going in on Friday to get our copies stamped.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

Most solicitors who have been emailing me back have said £5 per document. I think the mistake I made when asking before was due to the wording - I thought they had to be notorized, which is far more complicated I think, but then I reread another piece of information from my travel agents, that said they just needed to be stamped (certified).Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170
