How did you get on with your dress shopping Mrs Moore??

Well we went and paid the deposit on our venue earlier this week.... H2B hadn't seen it so we went for a look round and I love it even more now! He was really impressed with my choice! We've picked our menu, though don't have to sort that with the venue just yet!

Also went and booked our honeymoon.... we went for the cruise! Woo hoo! I can't wait! I booked it in my married name as my passport has run out now and I'm not renewing it til I can get a note from the registrar and have it in my married name. Was very odd signing the papers in both my maiden name and my married name..... really need to practice my new signature, I was stumped and basically wrote it!!

Hope plans are going well for all you April Bride 2 be's x x

    How's everyone getting on?

We are having a slight 'pause' in proceedings while I get through my next round of accountancy exams (training to be an ACA). But to be honest we've done so much that it is a bit of a 'lull' now!

We have been having a look at wedding rings, just out of curiosity, but we won't be buying those for a while. I'm also pondering what to do about invitations - would like to make them myself but just not sure I have the crafty abilities needed!!

We got the groom's suit today, so one more thing crossed off the list - just need to find him his shirt.

Also got the bridsmaid her jewellery the other day, but will give her that nearer the time as a present.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Nice! I have found what I think I want to get my maids as a present, but am waiting till closer to the time to make final decision. I just looked in the BHS sale as they said they'd quite like tiaras (which I can't afford at normal prices - 4 tiaras would set me back about £100 at least!) and hoped to pick up some bargains (tiaras reduced to £3 each!) but no luck, all sold already :(

Hiya Snoopy, so glad you booked it :D
BM dress shopping was good - narrowed it down to 3 dresses, were in region of £150-170 each

Our venue has gone into administration too so we are just holding still with it all at the moment :(

Lavandyr - have you tried ebay for the tiaras? x

Well done you guys for all the organisational bits. Still no further myself. Have been overly distracted by the nice weather and trying to buy first house. Procrastinating big time.

Have engagement ring now...thats a start I suppose.

Ooooh 3 to choose from! What are they like??

I decided on having my BM dresses made by the same lady doing my wedding dress.... decided on red 50s swing dress style with the netting underneath to match my dress! Cost £135 each.... a lot more than I'd hoped to pay but it will be worth it! Got to book an appointment to pop over and draw up the design for my dress soon! Can't wait!

My H2B took me in the jewellers to show me the original ring he was planning on buying me.... good God it was awful!!! It was white gold (which he knows I like) with diamonds shaped into a huge heart! Thank goodness he went to the other place an saw the one he got for me! He asked what I'd have done if he'd got the heart one..... I said I'd have kept my mouth shut cos I wouldn't wanna hurt his feelings!

Snoopy- I like the sound of your BM dresses.

I've finally managed to get my first wedding related purchase. I bought the flower girl's dress for a very MSE price pf £22.50 from debenhams, and I paid £10 of that in debenhams credit card reward vouchers.

Mrs Moore I'd love to share a picture of my engagement ring- I just can't work out how to do it.... will see if I can work it out.
