We have had a photoshoot in Victorian wedding dress for our invites.
I'm still searching for my shoes!
That's about it so far.........not much left to do!
  • Booked our honeymoon!!

Six nights in Dubai followed by 8 nights in the Maldives (google Kuramathi Island Resort... it looks AMAZING!!!!) :D

In the process of making invites but only managed 14 so far as they're taking almost an hour each to do!

Spent this morning with the OH spray painting pine cones silver with glitter for table decorations (he's looking rather silver himself now lol!)

Nearly 7 months to go now for us, starting to feel really real :) xx

    Jemma, that sounds fab!
Can I just ask, what are you using to make your invites?
Am considering doing the same xx

    Hey Isis,

I bought a box full of different posh card and paper in my colours (Paper Mill Outlets have an offer to fill a box for £4... can't complain and more cost effective than buying pre-folded card!)

So I have very thick purple card with a strip of ribbon/bow hand-tied down the side with rhinestones stuck on. Using lots of peel off stickers (docrafts and madaboutcards are great for those, much cheaper than Hobbycraft) and mounting 'wedding invitation' and the date onto card then using decoupage sticky pads to raise it up from the main invite iyswim. We've got a quirky design on the front but I know people on our invite list read this forum so don't want to say publicly before I've sent them out... but if you want to see a completed one, I'll happily email a pic over :)

Then found someone on eBay selling their leftover A5 silver envelopes (180 for £5.31 delivered) and job done apart from finding the time to finish making them! HTH xx

I'm planning on home made invites too but still waiting to confirm on venue and church before the papercraft marathon begins. Had a bit of a bank holiday of weddding planning. Bought the dress, went a bit over budget but managed to negotiate a bit of a discount as it was a stock dress. Have sorted out 2/5 bridesmaid dresses. Having them all in slightly different colours within the colour scheme, my sister is wearing a previous bridesmaid outfit which I think is very MSE.

Still in process of buying first house so every penny counts at the moment. Trying to pick up as many money saving tips as poss. Have been reading Wedding Ideas Mangazine, seems to be the cheapest and most handy of the wedding mags, more real life brides rather than photo shoots that look amazing but could never be recreated in real life. And found some good websites, one called 'once wed' and another called 'cheap wedding success' which you can do a google search for as I can't post link. This will probably be no help to all you guys as you're so well organised! ;-)
  • Jenna, HM sounds lush - we looked at that as well but changed our mind to what we did book.

Ruthy - a house move and wedding planning! Wow, thats a lot! I like wedding ideas too as I lOVE the real life section too.

When are you all sending invites? Is October too early to send with a Jan cut off? We are having a choice of food so need to give the hotel notice on numbers etc.

Got my shoes, and got measurements for dress wed of next week so will be seeing if the shoes go, if not they will be returned and back to the drawing board!

Starting to get excited now :j, 8 months today ill be waking up a mnarried woman:eek:! Im gonna start up a comprehensive to-do list and time frame, project manage it :o! Also a full scale of day before/day of wedding for timings to check ive not missed anything!

Anyone else got more news? :D

I think 6 mths is too early tbh :o Our venue requires numbers 4 wks in advance of the date so invites are going out 2nd wk in Jan which will hopefully brighten a dull month, with an RSVP of 11th March. I have read that the bigger timeframe you give for RSVP the less people reply! ( I may have read taht on here somewhere) as people file it away thinking its ages off then never get round to it.

In other news we've booked our minimoon! The Cairo Suite
