  • Lexxi - trying to set a date at the moment, is dependent on how much we want to spend = how long will take to save up! Am hoping 2012 latest..8 bridesmaids is too much, but 2 of the girls I've known forever, 3 are the grooms sisters and 2 are my nieces, though they can potentially be flower girls, and lastly one of my cousins, who am close too..glad ushers are not essential!! x

Dinah93 - many thanks for those links, some real bargains there! My bm's are all different shapes and sizes so happy for a colour theme and then they can kinda choose..am not too neurotic about things matching! I think some of the bm's will be quite good at doing their own/ each others hair make-up etc, I just worry that I look a bit 'cheap' asking lol!!

think just got into panic mode with my excel sheet last night! And starting to wonder why I switched career and now earn a pittance lol xxx
I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

Trying to find a work life balance...:rotfl:

I let all mine pick, the two bridesmaids are in the same colour but different styles, while my maid of honor is in a darker colour as she looked appauling in the champagne colour I'd chosen for the other two.

kitten where are you getting these figures from?
that is a massive amount unless your inviting hundreds but even then you dont have to spend that much
what venue do you want to use?
registry offices tend to be cheapest charging from £30- around £300
how many guests will you have day+night?
if you have the ceremony later on in the day you can just feed your guests once!
there are lots of ways to cut your spending down tell us what you do and dont want and we can help x

Gah! Well, not off to a great start with our wedding organisers! :(

I emailed the booking form to them with my home email address on, but I sent it from my work address and they keep emailing the work address (not a problem at the moment, but could be in future!) and they've just emailed me to say that me and Stephen can't get married on Monday Sep 19th 2011, so they've booked for the Tuesday 20th.

Problem with that is that my OH is not called Stephen and they didn't ask if the Tuesday was okay, just went ahead and booked it!
And Tuesday actually isn't ok, because we worked out that a Monday wedding would be the best for anyone wanting to travel to Rhodes for only 5 days. If the wedding is on the Tuesday, they are likely to be flying home the very next day with no time to recover!

    Grrrrr.

Oh joho that's a bit pants, it doesn't fill you with confidence does it when they can't even get your OH name right!

I'm going to order my wedding dress on my lunchbreak, I'm so excited, haven't been able to concentrate at work all morning :D

Thanks and congratulations Queen B! Enjoy your shopping/lunch! Have a drink in the sunshine to celebrate!

One silver lining, is that we haven't paid the organisers any money yet, so we can always drop them if they don't get their act together. But I am surprised they've done anything without any money changing hands!
