yeah floss i can see me doing that
at the mo ive used half a journalists handbook with scribbles about different venues!!
while were on about spreadsheets and the like, has anyone come across a free online table planner
ive seen the ones you have a free trial then have to pay for
ive tried uk brides and its shockingly hard work, time consuming and may not load after ive inputted 68 guests, i managed 3 and gave up!

Ooh I'd like one of those too...

I'm really excited because our engagement announcement is going in the telegraph on thurs (our 5 year anniversary). We've pencilled in our venue (need to confirm by next tues), shortlisted some photographers and I have got a few options for dresses (not tried any on but am hoping to find one at narrowed down list of places), and.... I THINK I've got a theme/colourscheme, after promptly changing my mind backwards and forwards all day on sunday (went to 2 wedding fayres)

Still getting weird dreams and hoping they will stop once the venue is confirmed.

TBH, it's worth the time it takes to set up, just so you can compare different scenarios & guests numbers for each venue on your short list.

We then adapted it to run our budget, and keep track of what has to be done, who's invited & RSVP'd, what has to be paid & when etc.

    Have you tried this one?

I haven't played with it yet though, so not sure how user-friendly it is!

Just reading all the venue chat :D
We booked our venue here http://www.ramadajarvis.co.uk/hotels/grange/weddings.aspx at the begining of this month and I seem to have stopped doing anything since.
Darling OH needs a damn good kick up the a*se to even pretend to be involved (Xbox widow). doesn't help that we need more money up together to actually place any more deposits. Just feeling a little disheartened. I know everything is miles away (18/09/11) but I want to be doing not just waiting :(

I know, I know. But shiny pretty wedding dresses are nicer to shop for than tins of beans and washing up liquid ;) Can I be a spoiled little brat and throw my teddy out the pram? :rotfl:

Oh sorry been missing in action as the internet stopped working! We confirmed the wedding venue............and then switched off for a few days. Yay!

OH is quite good at getting discounts so without doing too much he managed to get us £10 a head of food - which with 100 guests saves £1k and he also got them to knock down the room rate for the guests - the venue is out of town and it would be lovely if people could stay.
Ebay dress arrived and is spookily perfect - doesn't even need altered, I think I must have a twin! My two sisters have found and bought their bridesmaids dresses! I don't live in the same city so sent them some pics of what I liked and they were so excited they went shopping - separately and both fell for the same dress........the whole story is even stranger! They both sent me pics of them in the dress in the shop and I love it, phew that was easier than expected :) They are both in their 40's so the dress is really simple and could be worn again.
I'm working on a mix of spreadsheets, notebook and torn out bits of magazines - think its like a comfort blanket ;0 My work PC has a photos file with random pictures of flowers, hairdos and ideas for favours.
Somerset Girl - B I hope you get things sorted with your venue and they're doing some serios grovelling - I'd be ready to lay it on thick about the extreme stress their mistake has caused - good luck!
Good luck with the venue RainbowDrops! Comparing everything was making my head hurt so in the end we wnet for the place we loved and tried to get them to reduce the price a bit.

Sorry for the long post - lots of catching up to do!
