We always check on our lot, don't think I would settle otherwise. My youngest is 13, still always check, usually pull his earphones out!
My eldest girl is 23 and just returned home with DGS 10mnths after spitting with, her partner, probably just for a couple of months but I always check they are ok.
My 20yr old, I just peep in but if I know he has been out drinking I always make sure he is on his side:D
Our other son is in Oz at the minute so 7hrs in front, but I always text him night night:o

Since they began sleeping through around 3 months, I've only ever gone in if called, or if I haven't been around at their bedtime. Mine are 5 and 3.
Checking on them is great, not checking on them is great too. Neither is a sign of a caring/non caring parent.
Oh Im so glad you and the other poster have said this I was reading this thread thinking I must be a baaad mummy! I pop my head round the door on the little un (almost 4) but my 2 boys (12 and 10) I leave them too it...bad mummy lol:eek::rotfl:**"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. no you are normal doing that...I always check my two, 9 and 4... I check that they are warm enough, check they are breathing and make sure there is nothing around their necks...You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
You just keep on walking0 -
The doors are open in my house so i just glance through on my way just to see if they've fallen out their beds. I can retuck them a million times and they would still kick the covers off..0

It's funny I was thinking the very same thing the other night when I checked in on my girls, (they are 4 and 5). I always do it just before I go to bed, I whisper that I love them and then kiss them - this could be a hand or even a foot whatever is most exposed, then tuck them in being careful not to wake them.
I've done this practically every night and I think I always will, I couldn't go to sleep not knowing if they were ok (I know they would be) but being a mother does make you do crazy things!!Currently takling Barclaycard - £67/£350Debt free date October 2014:jDoing it for my girlies!!:j38lbs lost in 2011SW for May 8lb/7lb0 -

My dds are 30 plus, and when they come to stay, I still check on them before I go to bed! I always used to check on them when they were little, before I went to bed, so I suppose its habit, but they don't seem to mind!:rotfl:
I also check on them when I get up in the morning, before I go to work. (When they are staying with me they usually get a lie in)
