  • Morning and Happy St Patrick's Day

Working from home to-day so will pop in and out. We had the electric and gas bills a couple of weeks back and were still in credit too, not much but I was worried it was going to be huge after the really cold weather, so it was OK.

Hope everybody has a stress free day and can manage a wee Guinness for St Paddy and possibly the Irish economy!

Take care have a wee toddy, always works wonders with a cough, I suspect you are quite unwell as you have taken time off work, so keep warm and if it doesn't get any better GO TO THE DOCTOR

Morning everyone , sorry you are feeling poorly E52. Wee day off will do you the power of good.

I live in a 2 bedroomed flat, with gas heating and shower. Cooking is electric.

I have managed over the last few years to greatly reduce the bills.:j Thanks to the tips on this forum.

Have a electric card meter, that i find fab,it lets you know how much it cost to bake in the oven,(reason for buying remoske):money: or the differece prices between hot and cold wash cycles etc.(reason for more cooler wash cycles):money:

Leccy works out at £4 per week and Gas at £20, i am working on reducing the gas.

Have just checked online banking as my HB and IS are both being reduced due to DS turning 18. Will have to think of a non fraudulant way of making a little bit of extra money.
Have made an appointment with local Job Centre, to chat about options. Am hoping that i could maybe ebay some bits and bobs in the mean time.

Would like to try a bit of vol work 1 day a week to see how i could get on, finding it hard to except illness.

Well i'm off to bake daily bread, don't buy shop bread anymore, was spending £7-8 on bread a week. Now a bag of flour per week is 67p bit of a saving.:money:

Have a great os day, hugs to all who need them:A. Love BT

    Hi PDD,

Yes, you are correct. I seriously have to think about taking days off because I don 't get paid, so I usually lose about £30 a day..... ..that's chicken feed to some people, but to me its almost housekeeping for a week.!! I am alternating my time, between Jeremy Kyle, knitting and checking my ebay, which is up to the grand total of £20, I have 22 watchers, now if they would all get going and turn into bidders!! I need to replace my lost money now.!! :( The only thing with being off is the need to have a coffee, and then I need to have a biscuit.....I am sure its just a habit thing.:D

    Hi BT

Could I have a loaf of freshly baked bread please, I would willingly pay 67p, and I could have that with my coffee instead of a biscuit.!:T

    Hi nanna

Yep, I'll be ready when you get here. Fresh bread with melting butter on.......I'm drooling already.
Hope you OH manages to get some work, god knows how you manage without proper wages, its bad enough with two lots coming in every month. I'm going to try that flour next time I go to lidl, I only bake every couple of weeks. My grandchildren don't live locally so I only get to see them every couple of months. Last time they were here we made chocolate cake, and they were both sat eating the cake mixture, one had the whisks and the other had the bowl, chocolate mixture all around their mouths and it took me back to when their dad was a lad......he's now 31. Where do all the years go, if I could go back in time it would be when my 3 were all still at home, late 70's early 80's.!!

Hope you have a good day on Sunday at the safari park.....we are taking our grandkids there in July.....Knowsley I think it is. I am sure your lot will enjoy it.

    Elsie
