good morning all, grandson off to school dd's car to garage for mot, dh's breakfast tray set, clothes sorted,. just waiting for carers to arrive, Oh the builders are here, doing yet more adaptations for dh. As he can no longer use stairlift we are having to convert garage into a bedroom with a wheelchair access wet room shower and a carers room. Thank goodness we qualified for disabled facilities grant aid to cover most of it. So in about 10 weeks he should be able to come downstairs again and be a part of it.

Afternoon geezer.....& gals. Only dissovered mse last year...wish i had have found it YEARS earlier.:money:

My story so far, the curt version 48 yo mother of 1 DS 18, divorced 9 years ago, met rat of a new man, fell ill with bowel disorder, got into money problems.:mad:

Sold house, got rid of all debt 60k, got rid of rat, and now live in rented acc, living on benefits, and with no change in my condition, the chances of working again are slim.

Feel ashamed and trappped. Just like all peeps on this board, friends and family do not know about my money problems. They think i'm retired due to ill health and have downsized.:rotfl:

I have now no debt, but also no savings as such..... £500.00. in bank. I am worrying about retirement, adding to my 500, how i will live pay bills etc.

Love trying to make my money stretch, the chall of it keeps me sane.IYKWIM.

I know what you mean about MSE, I keep dropping hints to my grown up children about how great a site it is, just in case they ever need any help.! Not that they think I need it.!!! They think we are rolling in it, because we are both working, and I suppose we should be comfortable, but we're not.!

Well done on getting rid of the debt, and the rat.!! but its hard trying to get savings together isn't it.? Just how are you expected to do that on the amount you get in benefits?.

If ever you need anyone to talk to, you are more than welcome. It's just nice to have people to talk to and sound off at, especially when family and friends aren't aware of your situation.(Just like me and many others on this thread).

Well I have just finished my listings for ebay......how I hate that job.!!:eek: But I now have 15 items for sale, and if they bring me an average of £4 each, then thats £60, assuming they all sell. Oh, well, I can but dream.;)

Going to have a cup of coffee,:coffee: and start a bit of knitting for an hour or so, its a lovely day, but really windy so it feels cold......but I'm not putting the heating on, until I absolutely have to.!!

Where's those extra thick socks.????

Just got in from work thought id say hi and welcome the newbies
Had alovely day yesterday took little uns to the park sat in the sun life felt great.
Has anybody else had loads of junk mail ? there was mounds of it today.Straight to the recycle bin.Why are we told to cut down on waste and still have to put up with rubbish?Or is there one rule for everybody else and one for us?
I find it maddening!!!!!!!!!!

hello again everyone, mornings work done. coffee and apple time, then ironing and veg to do before dgs returns from school, then watch out world, cos I cant catch him! Cumberland sausages with mash and cumberland gravy (sounds posh, just gravy with a dollop of redcurrant jelly whizzed in ... any subterfuge is allowed to get fruit/veg into said dgs) then I think we might make a birthday card for a party he is invited to at the weekend.
