Moo, I love readin your diary! I wish we were neighbours, I too don't do girly, I do occassionally wear make up........once every 6 - 8 weeks perhaps:rotfl:. I do have painted toe nails at the moment however as my SIL paid for me to have them done, I also had my first facial-not bad one every 38 years!!
When I have lost my remaining 6 stone:eek:I would love to go shopping and get a 'capsule wardrobe', i'm no good at current fashion, being a size 'gigantic' doesn't help mind-I tend to buy what fits rather than really liking something:o. I have invested in some rather nice (not very girly but very comfortable) sandals this year, was hoping they would last me for years, however as I found one out on the lawn earlier on in the week with dog teeth marks in it I don't think they will make it much past this summer:eek:
I have done my own bit of de-cluttering this week and am finding it very calming, I wish I could have a lovely 'everything in its place' home, however that is never going to happen - oh well we cannot all be perfect, only a boring woman has a clean house:rotfl:I keep telling myself that anyway!!! Sorry to all you lovely clean house trained ladies out there!
Oh yes, you have a pm!

That appears to be a daily occurance here although the four legged fiend likes to chow on her stolen aquisitions whilst wedged between the armchair. Its a bit of a give away though as the only time she goes there is when she has something shes not suppossed to have... and its usually something of OHs. Purely because he cannot possibly deviate from routine for any reason. DDs learnt very rapidly that shoes in a dog accessible area get chewed. Solution: DOn't leave shoes in the dog zone. Simples. OH meanwhile plonks them at the side of the sofa. THere are days when he hasn't quite got the second one off when the first ones gone awol.
Then theres plates and the worktop. The four legged fiends nose, with a bit of a stretch, is level with the worktop making her fully aware of anything thats up there. The DDs now either eat whats on their plates or put the remainder in the bin and rinse the empty plate in the sink. OH simply abandons his in the middle of the kitchen and is most surprised that the clonking of the metal part of her collar against plate can be heard nanoseconds later. Bah. The puppy would be so much easier to train without OHs intervention.
Then again she had a lovely cheese and onion toasted sandwich waiting for her, balanced on a coffee table minus a plate, when we came back from our evening walk. OH wasn't overly impressed but since it was less than an hour since dinner when he left his veggies its really tough. I'm not entirely sure he'll ever get the idea.
Still pottering away getting bits done. Cleared three more trugs of weeds yesterday. Was hoping to get the block paving emptied of furniture and plant pots and the odd roof box, couple of BBQs and a few pallets in order to get rid of the weeds and moss and then refill the joints with silver sand. Unforseen downpour stopped play although the lack of silver sand would have had the same affect later in the day.
OHs anti-smoking plan is obviously going well. Clearly visible from here are two tins and a recently opened 50g pack of baccy. Aaaaagh. Why on earth can't he just deal with the cravings without giving in every 20 minutes. Its driving me nuts. If he hadn't announced he was quitting, again, I'd be clueless, if anything I'd be in full blown nag mode because I'm sure hes smoking more than normal and supplementing it with a variety of immitation fags containing just as much nicotine as the real thing.
Anyhoo plans for today involve riding lessons in the rain and a quick raid of OHs wallet too see if hes got a fiver otherwise I need to leave early enough to find a working hole in the wall. Then its on to the farm shop for some large juicy gnawable stuff because teething is in full blown action and the fiend destroyed eight pieces of kindling yesterday as well as chewing the knot off her raggy. After that its yet more laundry - oh the joy of it all - a spot of vacuuming no doubt followed by a rather longer spot of vacuum unblocking as I remove the chunks of kindling from the pipe.
Am thinking tomorrow may be the perfect day to go school shoe shopping via Vue to see the most excellently cheap 95p showing of Astroboy. Hopefully once thats done the DDs have everything needed for the new school year although I have a niggly feeling DD2 may need skirts. Will check that out at some point v. soon before everywhere sells out.
OH announced that he liked my new top yesterday. Nope not the one I bought last week, but whilst he was in the sort of mood whilst he pays attention to clothing I did show him that and he likes it too, but the one I was given by a neighbour about four years ago that I've never worn on account of it not really being me. The new me is making a point of wearing slightly less square clothes. Plus I figured the quickest way to declutter my wardrobe was to wear the stuff in it starting with the stuff I haven't worn for ages for whatever reason then the jeans that stretch during the day that have me hoiking them up so my bum doesn't fall out of them when I bend over at the end of the day can be disposed off as can the tops that firmly wedge themselves above my boobs the moment I walk out of the door. Seems to be working and its far easier to get shut of stuff for a reason than it is just to get shut. Have also made some surprising discoveries lurking in long forgotten corners. It should be noted at this point that I have a humungous walk in wardrobe with three hanging rails and v. deep shelving which is stacked two piles deep. Turfing out clothes is going to take a very long time. Even removing the couple of bin bags that have gone so far doesn't seem to have made a huge amount of difference, although I can now get coathangers on the rail without a fight, everything is still coming out creased. Guess thats a project for another rainy day.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Figured now the house is under control I should work on keeping it that way so with that in mind I'm going to print out the last weeks Flyladytasks to do this week and bung them on the fridge door so that I can cross them off as I go. Have already removed all the irrelevant stuff for the list thus removing over an hours ironing already. No one needs to do that much.

Ye gads that filled almost 2 sheets of A4. Have minimalistically reduced it too teeny type in a single handed big to conserve the planet and extortionately overpriced printer ink.
Guess that will keep me out of mischief for the next month. *Moo wonders briefly if OH will take the hint then laughs at the mere thought of the lunacy of thinking such a thought. Perhaps not*.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Sorry was that 1 WEEKS house work?:eek::eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:That would take me a month AT LEAST. Just to do the level 1 stuff. And washing down tiles *snorts with laughter* er no I don't think so.... lol.
That list made me tired just looking at it, but it also made me feel quite demotivated cos there was SO MUCH on it waaahhhhhh!
So I think I will pass on aspiring to that just yet. I have a visit from an official person on thursday, and it would be nice to just get the lego off the floor today so that I could hoover the living room. Did happen did it heck!!!
lol about your OH not learning about where the dog can get to. Seems you need to train OH as much as the dog.....:D

Eeee some people are soo negative. I know precisely what you mean though, it is rather daunting but there is method in my madness. First I've given myself a week to get five days worth of Flying done, secondly its really not all that bad if you break it down into 15 minute blitzs around other things and by starting witht he hardest day first things will get easier as the week progresses. So with that in mind I do declare today Tuesday. Better still I'm half way through the days chores which is always a good start.
Now need to clear rather a lot of space in which to plonk OHs new gargantuin camping fridge which is being delivered on Tuesday. Hoping he'll then sell his small one thus generating a teeny bit of space. On the bright side it was considerably less than the £250 Waeco that hes fancied for the last couple of years. At least I almost had enough cash in the Paypal account to cover it and the remainder has come from his pocket money account.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Rudely awakened at 3am by some drunken moron wandering past the house listening to music on a mobile phone with the volume turned up to full warble. Because of the direction the wind was blowing in we were able to hear his approach for about 1/4 mile so much so that others in the immediate vicinity were also awakened and one local resident was head to yell "Oi nutter some of us are trying to sleep" out of the window thus ensuring that the other neighbours were also awakened. Did giggle rather a lot as the volume was immediately reduced but will be having words with the DDs about yelling out of bedroom windows at random strangers in the dark.
Have given up trying to sleep for the mo so am downstairs being sucked to death by the kittten who seems to think that this passes for affection. The alternative is to bung her on the floor at which point she then attmpts to either wash my face or sit on the keyboard, both of which are even more annoying.
Finally abandoned housework at 7:30pm leaving the wiping of window sills and work tops to do to complete Tuesdays chores. Hopefully I can get that done in ten minutes this morning which gets a fifth of the list done. At the rate I'm going I think the entire list can be completed in 15-20 hours which is truly loony but since the kitchen is begning to sparkle my efforts, no matter how tediously boring, are finally paying off. OH assisted by cooking dinner and not complaining when I bunged my nose v. antisocially in a Trollope for the evening.
Also took the opportunity to do so money shuffling so that cheques are written for car tax, a few imminent bills and funding put aside for the remaining pre-arranged holiday activities. Need to make a couple of phone calls to book us onto fungal forays and wild fruit searches with the costal rangers to give us free things to do in September. There are also a couple of free evening walk and talks that sound like fun. One is a moonlit stroll to a local derelict castle which is more lump of crumbly rocks than castle shapes and the other is on bat both of which the DDs will love but the idea of a 10:30pm finish on a school night is a little offputting.
OHs friend is coming to stay for along weekend at the end of the month. Arrangments were made without OH consulting the diary so he'll be arriving whilst OH is at work on a day when I have both puppy training and a roller disco and v. little time in between to hang around for someone who is notorious for departing on his 4 hour journey about the time he's claimed he will be arriving. Will figure sometihng out much nearer the time.
DD1 is starting to get excited about pony camp and is already threatening to pack despite it being a week away. Still cramming all her essential possessions into a bag will at least clear a vast space inthe wasteland that is her bedroom floor and will make cleaning it far easier.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
I guess the OH friend will understand that this is what happens, if he has known your OH for any length of time LOL.
i like the idea of the evening walks. I had wanted to do some before we left the UK but the DSs were too young at the time. I guess the school night thing depends on how old your DD's are...
chev
ETA your list must have worked on my subconscious as i have done loads of housework today, including washing the floors in the bathroom, loo, kitchen and living room.....I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Morning! Tis gloriously sunny again and the perfect day for spending outdoors, especially as the temperature seems to be dropping rapidly at the mo. in another couple of weeks I'll be back to wearing jumpers.
Sounds like you've had a v. productive day Chevalier. Hoping I get plenty more done today although since OH is staying home and its just us girlies on a shopping spree lunch out has been suggested. Theres a Sainsburys by the cinema so we can pick up fresh rolls and something to slap in them and have a picnic on one of the very many grassy areas or we could splurge on anything from a chip butty to a full blown restaurant eat as much as you can buffet which is a complete waste of time with DD2 who eats surprisingly little compared to her elder sibling. Will wait to see what they come up with. Will be taking a book with me... yes shopping.... because theres a big undercover playpark with a three story helter skelter that willkeep the DDs occupied for as long as I'm willing to let them play. The more play time they have the longer they are likely to put up with me trying on bras and wot not. I fear this may end up being a very very long day.
OHs friend has a key because hes here that much, only its attached to his toy landie keys which are also here. Muppett. May well suggest he makes sure he is here in time for lunch and then drag him off to the roller disco or point out that he'll be waiting on the doorstep for us to return.
Need to empty out and rehome the contents of a kitchen cupboard in order to stash last weeks Christmas cakes which will then enable me to wipe down the worktops and window sills thus completing Tuesdays chores. Surprised how easy it was although considering how long I spent cleaning last week its not that surprising really. THe Fly lady list does seem like a full time job though rather than a list of every day things. Still even if I had a cleaner that lot wouldn#t all get done and I'd be £20 worse off too.
Splurged yesterday at the farm store on an assorted bag of dead cow components. It has been blissfully peaceful since. Got three roasted knuckles (? knee joints perhaps) - one for kitten and one each for the fur balls - puppy's is so clean it looks like its been polished and kitten is very generously sharing hers. Got lots of crunchy pig cheeks and chunks of rolled up crunchy flesh for the old dear as they help to keep her teeth clean. Now need to vacuum up the myriad of bits which have appeared absolutely everywhere. Have had fewer splinters in my feet than normal though which is always good.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Cupboard duly cleared out and cakes wedged in. A rather ridiculous 18 opened packets of assorted pastas unearthed along with 9kg of sealed packets. I forsee pasta featuring heavily in this weeks meal plans. Still the kitchen looks better again.
Kitten has decided to defend the area under the desk from puppy. My legs are in the middle of this war zone.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
