Arrived home from work to find we had guests in the form of a pair of house sparrows who are nest building in the gap created by the missing roof tiles. Plans for the afternoon involve finding a roofer to evict them asap.
OH has spent the morning clearing the junk from Landrover land was heaven to walk in the door and not trip up over something. Celebrated being able to see the floor for the first timein over a year by mopping it and then !!!!!!ing orf with the hounds for a stroll whilst it dried leaving oH snoozing on the sofa.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

I am totally in awe of the way you manage your job and your life and the fact that you still have time to read books!! What to me is cheering is that you welcome the return of the trouser snake and say that you enjoyed an evening of cuddles on the couch. The spark is very definitely still there and to me that's vital if the marriage is to continue. It's when you have to deal with all the !!!!!! and you hate any physical contact that it's time to move on, but I think you two will be fine as long as the cork stays in the bottle! Of course this may mean a life of sobriety for you too, but it would be worth it, wouldn't it?
Thank you! Am most glad you took the time to post. It really does help when people point out the obvious because thats usually the thing I overlook.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Love the post from Prudence. You are so right about overlooking the obvious. Lurkers should come out of lurkdom much more often with all of that wisdom.
I just would like to add that I am so pleased that people are helping you by not telling you what to do, not judging you and generally just "being there". This place will probably see you through so many dark days and help celebrate the little joys much more than any al anon group could. You are so strong and a real inspiration. Thank you. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. it was so obvious i missed it lol. Hope things continue on an evenish keel. Just had our first big gale of the autumn and thought of you and your tree.....
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

OH rounded off his day with a voluntary trip to the tip disposing of stuff thats needed to go for 6 months but which he wouldn't agree to part with and which I didn't dispose of because it simply wasn't worth the hassle. OK it wasn't a lot of stuff and I could quite happily have added a lot more to it but the point is he id it because he wanted to. He then ventured on to the farm shop for chicken feed, its hard not to really when its only another half mile from there, and then to Boots for vitamins ... yeah I know.... who on earth pays Boots prices for vitamins? Still at least hes bought them and is taking them which is a vast change of mindframe for him.
He celebrated his return to normality with a trip to the local gun shop where rather predictably he returned home with a rifle. When he materialised at work to collect the DDs he was grinning away like a child whos been given the keys to the sweetie shop. Sounds like he proceeded to spend the remainder of the afternoon randomly shooting up targets in the garden thus guranteeing the demise of this years strawberry plants too. Ordinarily I'd be fuming that he'd bought another gun taking the household stash into something approaching double figures although admittedly I am losing track a bit. This time round though I'm rather glad that hes found some way of rewarding himself for his achievements although he won't admit thats why hes bought it, he did mutter something about it being a collectors item of the future..... do I really look that daft? I mean really.... can you imagine the conversation in reverse.... Darling I've just blown £800 on this Mulberry handbag, its a collectors item of the future don't you know, and now I'm going to slap my lippy in it and take it shopping so that lots of people see it and covert it... toodle pip! Fortuantely the rifle in question wasn't an expensive one and quite probably cost less than he would have blown on booze in the past 10 days plus it has a resale value when he eventually gets bored of it.
Meanwhile I spent the day bussing tables as a bunch of VIPs descended on school for a late lunch. Pootled around clearing up after them and was instructed to take a platter or two of left overs home for the DDs. I don't need teling twice, especially when the ones I consolidated were pretty much all strawberries. Sent the cleaners home with a carrier bag full of scoff each which left a fridgefull of stuff for the staff room today plus several trays of cakes.
Have a class away on a residential trip which means doing even less work and so I ended up creating things to do, time consuming things like taking the recycling for a very long walk all the way around school in the sun which is quite probably why I ended up playing ball in the playground with next doors dog whilst the boss discussed football with the neighbours. Tis days like that when I really really love my job! Sent both cleaners home half an hour early much to their delight since they've both done loads of extra things this week because we've had the time to get stuff done. Next week will come as a bit of a shock when the builders depart leaving us with an awful lot more to do than we've been doing over the last few weeks.
Found myself a roofer who is coming at some point this week to do the repairs. Its a comany we use at school so I'm not too bothered about them letting themselves onto the roof when I'm not around, especially when I've warned them that the hounds from hell will be in occupation. Its only a small thing but its another job off the list. Managed to get all the ironing done too.
Plans for today involve coffee at a friends and hopefully a spot of garden tidying. Also need to clean out the chooks because they're rather honkey.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Plansd for today have gone tits up as usual thanks to the rather liberal spraying of the house with liquid shoite. A spot of window cleaning is on the cards when they eventually finish. Am most glad I didn't get as far as hanging out the washing although I am getting the garden manured for free.
Instead I'm planning to wash rather a lot of jam jars since my friend generously donated a car boot load of surplus jars. Will have a sort through and pass some on to the DDs riding instructor... this should still leave me with a hundred or so jars... being rather generous with the or so part.
The end of month gubbins has finally arived with another major reduction in debt to just over 15K which sees us teetering on the verge of achieving another milestone (admitedly again) but progress is being made steadily.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
