Have Forward Cellular Gone Bust?

(third time this thread as been up because of the upgrade of the boards)

but anyway, I and many do not seem to be having any luck at all in getting a response from fwdcellular.com either by phone or email to our queries. i have placed a few orders and got the automated response confirming the order but nothing has been delivered and no money has been taken out the bank. I'm more worried about the cashback they are supposed to be sending back to me.

Their website is still up and still taking orders but the situation is as above. I have found fwdcellular very good in the past but it does not seem like anyone has had any contact with them since the new year.

If you have been in contact, either spoken to someone on the phone or had a non-automated response by email can you post up? Does anyone have any news on what is happening with fwdcellular?

While this (hopefully) gets sorted, I would not advise anyone to place a new order with them.

Which suggests that Fwd Cellular may have done this before but its VERY uncharacteristic. That forum also links to an article about Customs and Excise cracking down on VAT fraud related to cashback deals.

If anyone hears anything from Fwd cellular or has some advice about what best to do, e.g should I order a phone from someone else, but suppose the FC phone appears? Can I warn my credit card company to refuse transactions? Can Orange be asked if the order has gone through to them?

Ordered my phone from them on the 11th Jan. Only received email confirmation but have not had anything since. No amount has been debited from my Credit Card and no Direct Debit has been set up.

I'm also wandering what to do. Should I order a phone from another company. But then what happens if FC bounce back. I don't want to be stuck with another phone to send back.

I too have emailed twice and thought it strange they haven't been answered as they had such good recomendations here. Just auto email saying high volume of emails ect causing delay... I didn't order anything though I was just enquiring before ordering but I sure hope it gets sorted out. That link is interesting especially the link to this one

I hope it becomes clear soon as to what has happened as I was about to take out 2 contracts in the next 3 weeks as all my contracts end then. Even if they starts to sort things today there will be a backlog. I hope for all those people who are awaiting cashback that they havent done a runner with the money

I ordered a phone off them before Christmas and got a email saying that my order has been received, but still have not received the phone?

I've taken 2 mobile deals with them before and they gave me the rebate on the dates promised, so I don't know whats happened.

Good news [at least for me]

At 10.35 a.m. today I received an email from Forward Cellular confirming receipt of my cashback paperwork and informing me that my cashback cheque will be signed off this week.

Yes, Forward Cellular's email was sent today [25th January] at 10.35 a.m.

Its good news then. I am expecting 2 cheque in less than 10 days as I have emailed them a scanned copy of my bill on the 6th of Jan. Fingers crossed.
