Maybe he's got a whole raft of crafty plans going on in his head.
His crafty plans normally involve Kylie Minogue. Thankfully she's got a restraining order. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Given I recently went to London, I fancied reviewing some of the places I wandered around. It is a relatively short book, as a lot of it is photo's, but I read half of it. I have gradually (with my birthday etc) built up a small collection of unread jack the ripper books, but have had a bit of a break from them most of this year. The bug will get me soon again, but I'd kinda like to wait until after christmas if possible, & I have so many othe rinteresting books to read too.
Which confuses me a little as to why I'm struggling to pick the next one.
There is an "industry" in guided Jack the Ripper walks, its a bit ghoulish, but interesting. The story of someone who left bits of his victim's insides round the room is not everyone's cup of tea.
[Leeds & Ipswich anyone?]
If you are in that area of East London I would recommend this place especially just before Xmas ("City Drunks must be under the control of an intelligent 12 year old")

I assumed that the pin would be attached to the postcode, especially as the pin appears in the correct position when the address is typed in with the postcode. However, it must then apply some hidden algorithm, because attempting to adjust the address to local-speak knocks it out.
You know how some places are just "known by" certain addresses, usually missing out, or specifically adding in, local area/placenames.... well I think Google likes it to be strictly by the book.
So, my pin that moved 2.8 miles to the left ... is now where it should be
I just don't like the "form" of the address I've had to type in to get it there.
Presumably it is the Post Office that issues the address - I'm on my third "official" address - the local health authority still insist on using the first of the three:mad:vivatifosi wrote: »It doesn't sound right lir. We have a carpet cleaner that isn't a Rug Doctor (one of the Bissell ones). It does a pretty good job. I didn't realise until I moved here how much the house - how can I put this - retained the odour of the former owners. Although the carpets didn't look spotless, the house at least smelt neutral. It took several goes though.
A good carpet cleaner probably won't dry your carpet straight away, but it certainly shouldn't be soggy. Mine are dry by the following morning and slightly damp underfoot after use. It took me four cleans to get rid of the smell of the previous people.
This is a hot day in the summer job; with windows & doors open?
I borrowed a carpet and upholstery cleaner over a weekend from a bloke who does pubs etc. for a living0 -

Agreed, it should have been, but summer days were pressing with other stuff here this is ''fluff''.
TBH I think its brought more dirt to the surface and what I can smell smells like wet dog.....I'm not sure I'd bother again!
edit: in fact its just redeemed its self a lot by cleaning the bit I didn't think anything would! In the main, despite the honk of this place the water has been grey not impressively so...and frankly, well.....these carpets aren't really going to wow even if spotless...too old, too yucky. But its brought the carpet thats faded from cream to pink back to cream from dirt trodden in a door way so very pleased. I think my normal hoover is pretty good looking at the water from the carpet cleaner.0 -
I do like black slate floors... a repo just came up in my daily search, that had black tiles in the kitchen ... I always check for black tiles in kitchens/bathrooms, I just like them.
You can wash a hard floor.... some people say that wooden floors collect dust - they don't, it's just that you can see it. But, just a quick wipe with a damp cloth where you know it gathers (edges, corners and furniture legs) and you're done in 40 seconds once a month0 -
But don't you just get acclimatised to any smell? I was in a friend's house this morning which stank heavily of dog, yet in 15 minutes or so it was much less noticeable.
When I was a child, we lived in one house where silage was spread around in the field next door. At first, it was overpowering, but within a few days it became the 'normal' smell.
I once worked above a baker's. The smell of fresh baked bread was an overwhelming attraction - a bit like the pied piper effect.
Thankfully it did wear off after a while or I would have multiplied in size.0 -

I love the smell of fresh bread. The smell of fresh bread and the sight of flowers are both meant to help sell a house. They certainly wouldn't put me off buying one.

Thanks treliac. I'll remember that for next time I come to sell. I'm not a coffee fan but I'm sure I can make some and waft the scent around. I'll probably end up with non-serious buyers viewing solely for the coffee and fresh bread.
You don't have to feed and water them.... just let them smell it - tantalisingly out of their reach.0 -
If anyone brewed coffee just before my arrival, I would be out of the door sharpish....or would be vomiting on the carpet. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
