There are loads of nasty viruses going round here. DS has been off school all week, and by the looks of him he won't be going back tomorrow either. Round here there are at least two doing the rounds - a flu one with sneezes/cough/temperature and a sicky one with D&V.
Kudos for not including too much detail/description LydiaJ!:Tlostinrates wrote: »Poor little chap. I hope he feels better for the weekend. Being ill when you are little can feel endless and totally sapping. Take care of yourself too...hope you have dodged them!
Not just children. It is endless & sapping for grown men too!;)vivatifosi wrote: »Evening all... I don't know how many of you are interested in the space programme, but here's a fun little diversion for anyone who has fancied travelling on the Space Shuttle (ages 13 and over only):

That looks way cool Viva! Great find!
I'm in a strange place atm - kinda like the eye of the storm. I had a busy few weeks & weekends, what with going to a couple of football matches, going to see Rich Hall, Ardal O'hanlon, Mark Kermode all in the space of 3 weeks, plus Bonfire Night etc. I've now got 2 weeks with relatively little on, though I'm aware I've got all the christmas shopping to do, and I've got 2 seperate repairs to get done on my car, as well as get it serviced. I also haven't caught up with 2-3 friends who I usually see a lot more regularly than I have recently, so I know it is going to get a little manic soon.
Feeling kinda lethargic atm though...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Its stew/sofa/snuggles weather. I really fancy making a rich beef and stout stew, but we HAVE to have souffle tonight...and the next two days probably! The chickens are on overdrive for this time of year. Next week I'm going to bake my socks off for the freezer.
I've painted my salt dough christmas decorations and have remembered that I always feel more artistic than I really am.Not sure what to do, they were for our front door, but I expect people will ask which primary school my kiddie goes too.:o:o.
Urgh. Time for a late breakfast.....poached, boiled or scrambled?0 -
It's busy busy here with planning my brothers wedding...oh I wish they had given me more time to search out the bargains.
I think I have found my outfit though (yes, I am actually buying a new outfit!), it's off Ebay and £17 at the moment but it has taken a bit of guts to put a bid in as it is a dress, one that has the potential to make me look like the sugar plum fairy (no-one else agrees with me on that one) and for me, is quite a risky choice as I tend to go sensible and, dare I say it, dull and boring, so I can melt into the background.
It really is time to buy a new outfit, my only other outfit has now been seen several times at events and is becoming tired....and boring.
Shoes are ok, no need to get anymore as my black court shoes (I now have two pairs! Forgot to take my shoes with me a couple of weeks ago to the ball at the site where my parents have their caravan, so found another pair in a charity shop for £2.50) will go with the dress..and I have never bothered with matching handbags especially as I need to have enough room to put youngest's emergency asthma kit and his epi-pen/anti histamine medicine in plus all the gumph in case he needs to go to hospital at any point.
Now just to find a strapless/multiway bra in my size!
I'm feeling the lethargy at the moment too so I am having to force myself to study, do the housework, plan the wedding, keep on top of youngest and his medical needs (this is a very dodgy time for him with all the colds about - his peak flows keep going all over the place) plus worrying like a silly thing over eldest and his continuing refusal to see his physio or gp over his ever increasing dislocations and chest pains.
Thankfully this week, middle son has settled down at bit after having me over last Friday whilst in a aspergic rage!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
lir: I'll have your eggs, otherwise I believe you can freeze them if you crack them into moulds. why not try to sell them?
I'm restless, many reasons (one of them posted in the employment forum) but a series of events need to happen and they haven't0 -
Good luck misskool! FWIW I'd ask today if it means you need to prep (e.g. buying tights)
we plan to sell them, but I keep thinking not worth it just before they stop/slow down laying, you kind of want to start when supply is reliable I think! or when others' supply dries up! Also, we have a great sales area, but not terribly security great atm. I'm definitely hoping to be selling next spring though, then they'll probably all go broody and go off lay rofl.
edit: one carpet done so far, I think it smells worse now!0 -

Finally owning up jelly;)?Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

[lostinrates;38605960] The chickens are on overdrive for this time of year.
Weighing up what we shelled out to get this far, it's almost as valuable as a Faberge.:o However, we will hard boil, share it in a sandwich and hope they come in pairs soon.
Having fun with the RD then?
After two days of head scratching and half a dozen weird attempts to make special tools/keys, I have finally broken into my own van. This must've saved a minor fortune for some guy to come out here and wreck the lock.
I don't think I'll be shutting the key inside it again, anytime soon.0 -
We had our first egg today. :j

The first one is the best! You'll also find the first ones fro new hens really exciting. Getting to know who lays which egg an the minuscule differences between their ''normal'' eggs is a wonderful game.
Enjoy your sandwich!
The RD is a wretch and my tonne of salt is a no show AGAIN. Grrrr.0
