I'm getting ANOTHER cold.
I've just got over one cold, and I can feel another brewing. I feel "off", and a couple of friends have got symptoms of something between a cold and the flu.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

If, as Martin says, the information was not sold to a third party, then it isn't really an ICO matter, it is a crime under s1 of the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and it would be a police matter.
Look, I don't want Martin hauled over the coals, but the DPA requires data controllers to keep info secure. There's clearly a problem with site security somewhere, and in principle the ICO ought to take an interest. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I didn't get an email either....
Parents consultation for eldest today
Film studies - Good (blimey the teacher talks)
Philosophy - We lost count of the amount of times the teacher said fantastic he said it so much in regards to eldest, he also said brilliant, a fantastic (that word again) rare skill in debating and that on current work, the very minimum he would get at A level will be a C, it is more likely to be A. He also can't quite believe it is the same child he saw in year 7 and 8, that the turn around has been (yes, you guessed it) fantastic.
English Language - Hmm, the less said about that the better but the teacher was good to talk to about OU.
English Literature - Teacher not able to be there but she did attach a note to say she was very happy with eldest's progress.
Eldest went from being really chuffed with the philosophy teachers comments to being in a very bad mood after the English Language comments...I just hope it doesn't knock his confidence too much as he is very much a confidence student. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

The DPA doesn't require data controllers to keep info secure, they require data controllers to ensure that "Appropriate technical and organisational measures shall be taken against unauthorised or unlawful processing of personal data and against accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, personal data." and explicitly state that these measures must have regard to the state of technological development and the cost of implementing any measures as well as to the potential harm that can result.
These sound like fine legal points, but they are important. A security breach doesn't, as such, mean that a data controller has breached any duty under the Data Protection Act. They are required to take reasonable steps to protect data. MSE is run on industry standard software, and as long as any passwords are kept secure, and the software is kept up to date, there is not a lot more that MSE can do to prevent hacking.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Ha, ha, ha, no definitely not. They are all countries that fascinate me. I would love to go to Iran on holiday as I find the strange dichotomy between the Persian and Islamic culture fascinating, but go there at the moment, no way! Same thing N Korea. I've been to Russia though and find it fascinating.
I have another book on my "to read" list that you might find suitable. If not, there's a series of podcasts to listen to, that's this book:

I've ordered it from the library, but there's a long waiting list. I'll probably end up getting it about next February. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Well you do normally get the best sunshine figures in the UK;). I'm glad you are ok, I was just a bit concerned as I didn't know which part of the county you were in and seemed to remember that you were under the same district council in the past.
See, you can't even look for pictures for a couple of hours without us missing you:o.
Now about that cheese sauce. I'm a dreadful cook. About how much cheese are we talking exactly? I have absolutely no idea, so you have to at least tell me whether we are talking about a big block of cheddar or something the size of a Baby Bel.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I'd say about 30-50% by volume. More if you can fit it in/think it'll melt and love cheese. As you refer to BabyBel, I'd say 3 minimum - remember too, the first time you do anything it's a trial... you try it, taste it - and then think how you'll do it differently next time
The smaller you cut it, the quicker/easier it melts too... I tend to slice it very thinly and then chop up the slices, or if I've pre-grated a tub in the fridge then I just put my fingers into the top of that like one of those fairground grabbing machines where you win teddies (except you don't as they slip out). You can always taste it before you pour it over anything..... a cheese sauce is simply: lump free, the right thickness .... and CHEEEEEESY.
If I had a new-fangled phone that did videos I'd go and make one to show you.... but I don't0 -
What about some disgruntled employee running off with a copy of the database?
That happens.
It happened with a plant/seed company I dealt with. Two employees set up nearby and sent their catalogue out to all their employer's previous customers.
I didn't support these guys, but later, they bought a property I'd looked at, did it up a bit, and set up permanently there. It was funny because I was 'blacklisted' by the agent for telling him not only that he'd totally misrepresented it, but that the owner was such a nutter he should only do accompanied viewings. I also predicted it wouldn't sell.... and these chaps certainly screwed that theory! :rotfl:
Anyway, as you know from all good movies, crime never pays. After pouring lots of dosh into the place, one of the two naughty guys got so ill they had to sell up. They still operate from a Box Number and a mobile phone, which sounds about right.
Meanwhile, the nursery, which isn't far from here, has been taken by a family who seem to be the first pleasant & 'normal' owners it's had.0
