I'm now being forced to email a photo of this blooming egg to the rest of the family.....:wall:0 -
I can't believe it's Friday!! In fact - I genuinely only found out 1 hour and 4 minutes ago. I thought it was Thursday.
Where do all the lost days go?
Kind of got to grips with my events calendar/diary and been faffing around with settings and php date formats to get it to do what I want, but the automatically generated google maps has a nasty habit of moving the pin 400-500 yards away from where it was when I first set the location up... which [a] is annoying and makes me look like an idiot who doesn't know where anything is.
Sometimes the pin starts in the right place, then randomly moves... and sometimes it moves before I've even saved the location record.0 -

Apparently the reason I've found the Rug doctor a wretch is because its not sucking properly.
DH has banned me sogging any more carpets till we speak to the people about it.

I've heard some bad stories about Rug Doctors.... might be worthwhile going to one of the other boards and searching for MSE experiences.
I thought about getting one a few months back to do the carpets here, but realised I'd be making a rod for my own back and achieve nothing.... I don't "do" manual labour very well at all, I'm so useless that all things are best left in the state they're in because any attempt made by me that involves manual tasks means I end up out of pocket and with a worse scenario than pre-fix.0 -
I think I've cracked the moving map pin issue. I assumed that the pin would be attached to the postcode, especially as the pin appears in the correct position when the address is typed in with the postcode. However, it must then apply some hidden algorithm, because attempting to adjust the address to local-speak knocks it out.
You know how some places are just "known by" certain addresses, usually missing out, or specifically adding in, local area/placenames.... well I think Google likes it to be strictly by the book.
So, my pin that moved 2.8 miles to the left ... is now where it should be
I just don't like the "form" of the address I've had to type in to get it there.0 -
It doesn't sound right lir. We have a carpet cleaner that isn't a Rug Doctor (one of the Bissell ones). It does a pretty good job. I didn't realise until I moved here how much the house - how can I put this - retained the odour of the former owners. Although the carpets didn't look spotless, the house at least smelt neutral. It took several goes though.
A good carpet cleaner probably won't dry your carpet straight away, but it certainly shouldn't be soggy. Mine are dry by the following morning and slightly damp underfoot after use. It took me four cleans to get rid of the smell of the previous people. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
