Auto Cashback from Mobiles.co.uk

Dear Sir or Madam,
I have been through an absolutely dreadful time with Mobiles.co.uk so I would urge anyone to be very wary of their cash back schemes. I dutifully and systematically converted the right bills to PDF which I then sent through their on line email. I followed all the rules and deadlines to the letter but they have a range of techniques to avoid paying your money. These include:-- Not responding at all and then when you do query your payment say they never received the original correspondence.
- Say the bill was not sent in time.
- Say the PDF did not come through.
- Do not provide a digital receipt thereby ensuring you have no proof (unless you do recorded delivery).
- Insist you can only communicate through email ('to keep costs down') ensuring there is no one person to liaise with as emails are signed annoymously.
They obviously do not always 'lose' claims but if you think that if they just avoided paying for a fraction they are still make a significant saving.
In my panic to get some acknowledgement before the deadline I did everything including trying to phone. It was only after the deadline (I sent PDFs daily) that I got an email to say all the messages, emails and bill copies arrived after the deadline. To add insult to injury the dates quoted in the email bore no relation to my situation which leads me to suspect that this is a standard email sent out.
PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS0 -
I know this is an old thread but I found it by looking to see if anyone else was having problems with getting their cashback from Mobiles.co.uk. And now I can see I'm not the only one! I'd like to echo pauldono's post, "AVOID AT ALL COSTS"
I bought my wife a phone through Mobiles.co.uk last Christmas after searching for the best deal, and with the cashback it was, "the best deal". but since jumping through all the hoops they put in place I still have not received my first cashback claim which was sent in July. I sent a follow up query as to why it hasn't been paid only to get another automated response. By the way.. I find it very disconcerting that on their web form an option for your query is "CHASING PAYMENT". If it wasn't so frustrating it would be laughable. I've just sent another email to their "cashback_escalations@mobiles.co.uk" email address. That email address in itself should ring alarm bells to anyone hoping to do business with mobiles.co.uk and get their cashback paid.
I know for sure like pauldono and all the others I sent my bill correctly and on time, there's no excuse. And even if I do ever get the cashback I shall never do business with them or the carphone warehouse again. Once bitten and all that.0 -
Wrong thread; it's not "automatic". You have been foolish to wait this long. Provided you have email confirmation of ACCEPTANCE of your claim send a LBA and then sue if nothing is forthcoming in a short period. See my guide "Cashback Guide for Dummies" on here. Had you done your research before ordering you would not be in this position now. Without proof of (at least) receipt of your claim and ACCEPTANCE (which gives you the position of being able to get your money no matter what the dealer says or does now) you will have great problems getting payment without their "goodwill". Make sure you don't make the same mistake with the remaining claims - one of which must now be due.0

I'm pleased to ressurrect this thread and try and warn people
i've been having a terrible time with an automatic cashback deal with mobiles.co.uk
avoid them at all cost
got what i belived to be an excellent deal of wildfire s with £310 automatic cashback, did a bit of research first and believed that automatic would be best and safest.
my deal was an upgrade deal, i ordered it on 15th september assuming that give or take a few days by 15th october i would receive the cheque - after chasing and chasing on email, getting responses always from different people with different stories i was told today that the cheque was raised on 27th october - not quite sure how that date fitted in with anything either! the email i got today states it could be 21 more days from cheque being raised to receipt - thats insane, to me cheque being raised means its written ready to send0 -
CPW companies invent their own dictionery. "Raised" = agreed to issue, wait another 28 days before it's actually written, posted and received. Actually, it usually arrives within two or three weeks of their definition.
I am very aware that they are proving extremely inefficient of late (hence my recent post on my Cashback Guide for Dummies). From various recent events I believe it is sheer incompetence rather than deliverate practice (and that's highly sypmathetic to them coming from me given all MY warnings which you will have come across through your research).
The cheque will arrive, but if it doesn't or you want to take action send them a LBA and sue if it doesn't produce the amount due to you. Your research will show you how.0 -

I have just found this thread after posting on of my own (being a newbie I cant post the link)
It seems nothing has changed in mobiles.co.uk world except that the waiting time seems to have actually been extended!:(0 -
