Hola! Everyone
Sorry I have been MIA, I have been reading, but not felt I had much to say so didn't post.to all those birthdays and anniversaries I missed.
I have myso will try to catch up. One of the reasons for not posting is I sometimes feels awful when many of your are really struggling with finances, health, kids, weather. etc., and we are going through a really nice time of our lives atm, while still being OS in many ways.
to our new posters, welcome.
to Elona's DD, anyone else having exams, trying for jobs, etc.
Our DS changed positions for the better in his new company he joined in September, and now he has to bring is Excel knowledge up to speed PDQ, so I got an email SOS yesterday as he couldn't quite get a formula to do what it needed to so, so yes guess who was on the PC dragging her Excel knowledge up to speed.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:, that is the only thing I miss since taking early retirement the challenge of Excel and Access so I enjoyed it, but didn't tell him that.;)
We have mixed weather out here (Spain, Costa Blanca) we have some really nice hot days, some cloudy days, and an odd rainy day, really weird absolutely threw it down on Tuesday night all night, but woke up to a lovely day yesterday. Today is due to be good too, so will be trying to get a little more colour before we come home, but then cloud tomorrow, a little rain Saturday and sun, cloud and rain on Sunday, but they due to come nice for Monday/Tuesday, we leave to come home early Wedneday morning. Easter, the 'van is out again, and we are going near the National Forest Centre in Derbyshire.
OS has been keeping the place clean and cooking from scratch, will be glad to get back to my Panny though, do have a SC out here, and found some S&K which went down really well, DH having to go for bread to mop the gravy;), even though he only has the Stewing Steak, luckily I adore kidney. We are now on a use up fridge/freezer routine, and have agreed to go out for a meal tonight to our usual music bar with some neighbours.

Morning all..................((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.........
Its not such a nice morning although they tell us it will fine up later.
No idea what I am going to do this morning, OH is talking about doing more in the garden, but not until the mist has burnt off.
We still have no telephone or broadband more than 4 weeks after we moved. I got a message from Sky yesterday, but no real news and they took £78 from my account yesterday, I can do nothing until we get the phone in, I refuse to call them on theor 0844 number, last time it cost me £10 for just over 5 minutes, I am not into masochism.......I cannot afford to call at that rate to speak to someone abroad who does not speak or understand English, all they seem able to do is say I am so sorry, and thats it!!
I must admit I am very tempted to get a freestat box and go to another provider for my telephone and broadband. I have given them 10 working days, which equates to a week to sort it out, otherwise I am off........ Never had this problem with virgin, but sky is the only option up here, no fibre optics here.
Scotch pies and onion gravy for supper tonight, OG can finish off the beans from last night, think I might make a bread and butter pudding foe a change....it ages since we had one.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Oooo taplady didn't know you were a tap dancer (although perhaps it's a little obvious from looking at your name

and my avatar!
I've been tapping for about 15 years on and off, am still not that good though but as you say its great fun. I'm in a group and we used to do big shows at a local theatre in lots of fancy costumes but we're all a bit long in the tooth now so just tend to do it for the exercise and fun. We have a new teacher now who is a brilliant dancer and works us ever so hard!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi all, gorgeous but frosty here this morning.I like everyones mini weather reports too Sunnygirl, my DH thinks I am a weather oracle
Quicker than the news too.:rotfl:
I was going to do some food shopping, but its so nice I might do something in the garden.I have opened all the upstairs windows for a spell, but they don't half look mucky now the sun is shining,so will do those as well.
Tonight we are off into Manchester, so something easy for tea.We are going to see Mumford & Sons (up and coming band for anyone who doesnt know.)We are all going-so it will be a mixed age group,as some friends of ours, and their sons ,who are friends of our DSons IYSWIM are going too.
One of the dads has a people carrier and is giving us a lift, which is very good of him,as we were going to book a minibus.
We got the tickets ages ago,and they now seem to be selling for silly money on Ebay.
Yesterday I cut up some old T shirts of DH into spiral strips, then pulled it to make
a kind of yarn, got my biggest crochet hook(10mm) and I am making a huge granny square into a bathmat-its nearly done as it grows so quick :rotfl:When dh saw what I was doing,he said 'WHAT are you up to now?'- I said it was a modern equivalent of rag rugs, and he said 'oh yes, spose so'.Very Os if it works.
Right better get on-hope you all have a good day, welcome newbies:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning all
Hope you are all well
Diva - well done with your seeds
hart44 - firemen?? where?? :rotfl: :rotfl:
lowsey - it's really hard to keep that sort of behaviour down. My sister is bearing the brunt of bullying from her estranged spouses friends, but still doesn't seem to understand that the best thing she can do is remove herself from that circle of people. I think it's harder with younger kids as the the victim often can't understand that the bully is not a friend. I don't think you can - or should - do anything with regards to the perpetrators (other than report their behaviour if it is in your remit to do so) but focussing your energy on your niece maybe the best plan. Make her feel good about herself, do things to boast her confidence and teach her self worth so the teasing bouces off her. Your mum is trying to protect you; and to be fair, if you get a rap for threatening them then they may well use it against your niece even more. I was bullied at school, and now I look back on a bunch of sad little people with pity more than anger.
Donnygal - Even if everything is bearing down on me, I still love to hear that others are happy; for me it's like a glimmer of sunshine and a reminder that good things do happenPlease do keep us updated of your adventures!
Floss2 - thankyou for the links to the cakeshops(my lakeland tins worked out at £27 delivered after the 3for2 discount and the repeat customer token - I had £20 worth of gift vouchers, so it only left £7 cash to pay). They arrived yesterday and they are really nice heavy tins)
It's going to be a slower day here - my sponsors have gone home, so the pressure is off a bit. I have so number crunching to do. Had a tour of OH's new shiny lab yesterday so may well be sneaking into the corner to do some work in a few weeks. I some research to do as I've had a synthesis challenge from a group upstairs. I need to make some resin cabachons when I get home and I have to go to the post office again *sigh*
Must go, have a meeting at 10 am *blergh* (although we do just normally sit round and eat cake!) have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0
