Hey all,
Im a simple soldier looking to get to Glasgow for a mates wedding. Tryed split journeys but im not the sharpest tool in the box and managed to make it a more expensive journey!!
Im trying to do the following journey for 2 adults (Wife and I) and a 1 year old daughter:
Hereford to Glasgow Central, 11th Nov 10
Glasgow Central to Hereford, 14th Nov 10
Cheapest i have so far is £243.80 return.
Any help is appreciated,

Try splitting at Birmingham New St.
Also go to your HR Admin (where your pay clerks work) and apply for a HMF railcard for yourself and your wife, IIRC £12 each but it will save you a bundle on that journey.

Hi dont know if anyone can help me please - i am going to castleford next weekend from nuneaton.
The cheapest i seem to be able to get fare for is about £40 thats going from nuneaton to sheffield (via b'ham) and then on to castleford.
I have managed to get cheap return anytime return from sheff to castleford £12.30 but each leg from nun to sheff and sheff to nuneaton is £14 each. Cany anyone help me with lowering this please or advising of any discount codes when booking. All info very greatly appreciated. x0 -

Hiya guys im looking to travel from exeter to birmingham and would like some help finding tickets that dont break the bank.
I want to travel on a friday evening 6pm onwards and return on sunday evenening 6pm onwards.
I dont have a railcard but have looked in the network railcard however it doesnt cover upto Birmingham.
Please advise

Unluckily for yourself that route is run by Arriva Crosscountry who are the tightest train company with regards to Advance tickets. But the best you can do is buy in advance (Advance singles £24.50, it will save you £21.50 on average compaired to the walk on Off peak fare (£70.50).
If you can't get the cheap advance tickets then look at splitting at one or more of the following;

All info very greatly appreciated. xI don't have a railcard - the dates are 23rd Oct leaving nuneaton any time between 10am and noon, and returning from castleford on 24th Oct after 2pm. or dep Nuneaton 12:16, arr Castleford 15:00. Advance Single = £20.50.
Dep Castleford 11:41, arr Nuneaton 15:43. Advance Single = £13.00.
or dep Castleford 14.36, arr Nuneaton 18.08. Advance Single = £20.50.
Total could be as low as £33.50.
With Advance Singles you must travel on the booked train.
