Thank you. We need to be in stoke by 15.30 and yes leaving same day anytime after 20.00. Im not sure if groupsave is available on this\ service as when I try and enter groupsave the discount doesnt show up?

    Danielle

If you get the 1146 outward LM train the groupsave fare is just under £60 total for all of you - £15 each

Coming back it's £27 each on the 20.13 - no Groupsave on this because part of the journey is by Virgin who don't participate.

You might have to book each leg separately to ensure you get the groupsave

£42 each return is not that bad.

Any of the rail sites will give you a better deal than that - once the cheap tickets are released. FGW are up to 28th April at the moment so it shouldn't be long.

Moral - don't try to book too early

Since I wrote the above FGW have updated their website to say 5 May

There look to be some decent prices there, especially outward. The Sunday may be a cheaper day to come back

£26 return is possible - £40 easy (Reading - haven't looked at Farnborough)

Thank you no £42 return is not bad at all. But am I doing something wrong as I cant see the groupsave option online? The cheapest I have fount is £87.60 for all passengers.

heya, i am having to travel from Plymouth To Either Reading or Farnborough for my dads 40th birthday party but seem to keep coming up with about £66 for the return and was wondering if there was a cheaper way of getting there.

I found an £11 Exeter->Farnborough via Salisbury (you still need a ticket Plymouth->Exeter and this is generally a slower route). dzug1's options are probably best

GroupSave tickets are not currently available online.
    Group travel on London Midland
At the moment, GroupSave tickets can only be bought at stations, but they'll soon be available online.
Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place

Try splitting at Manchester Pic and look for the cheap advance singles, but make sure you give yourself plenty of time at Manchester to make your connection (30-45mins)
