Oops not quite in bed yet!

Jack has got very clingy lately - won't even stay with OH and today cried everytime I left the room :( but was happy when I came back :)

It's funny cos when we are on our own I go into the kitchen and leave him in his Jumperoo and he's OK.

I've not gone to baby group the last few weeks - I just can't be arsed. :p I've emailed the creche about starting settling in sessions early (end of April) they usually suggest 2 weeks before but I think we'll need longer as we have no family here and no-one I could leave him with.

Although my friend is looking into becoming a CM and will take J as soon as he is 1 (she has her son who is same age) so I might ask her if she'll have him for an hour or so and see how things go.

I really can't afford not to go back to work although this Mystery Shopping lark is proving to be quite productive.

really am going to bed now! Think its cos of the clocks - it's only 10pm really! :p

Where does the time go?

I had to cut my relaxing bath short as I needed to check on Beenie door update! Whew  glad it was sorted quickly :) very traumatic.

Our nursery room has no door-handle on the inside (not by our design...), my mum was here playing with Elijah the other week and he slammed it shut gleefully, she has arthritic fingers and couldn't use the hole-where-the-door-knob-should-be to yank it open the way we do, she had to call for help til OH rescued her! :p Not quite the same level of drama as yours however!

    Night all.

Phew thanks at least i'm not alone on door jam panic :D

If i wasn't panicking and rushing cos Amber was in there crying i might have spent a bit more time thinking about it (or at least asked on the forums) cos the door is brand new and i was so gutted at the thought of breaking it down lol!! I's amazing how many things go through your mind when you're panicking.
I was like omg the ex came and stole Amber > omg the wardrobe fell over and jammed behind the door > omg shall i ring the fire brigade > should i try and climb through the window outside (the unopened, first floor window?? lmao!!) > how can i carry the kitchen table up to charge it at the door.

    :rotfl:

Beenie, your mind goes into overdrive when something like that happens!

I'm having mummy guilts, Katie's speech is still behind, it's not as clear as it should be.

I know I've got a few months yet but I'm concerned how she'll cope at playgroup.

We talk to her all the time and if she mis pronounces a work we just say it back in the correct form not as a way of correcting her just so she hears it as it should be IYKWIM.

She has been very cute today I made Smoked Mackeral Pate for lunch and she kept asking for more all afternoon and on a couple of occasions was caught in the fridge helping herself.

She has very unusual tastes though as she likes butter or cheese spread on poppadoms so if you give it to her plain she looks cross and asks for it! I blame DH he introduced her to it.

just bobbing in, can I sleep without nightmares due to the presence of 'the lurker' or should I still be worried?

LoL.. Beenie.. hugs.. At 37 weeks pregnant I was locked out of the house by my 3 year old son... I ran round the back of the house.. climbed onto a wheelie bin.. climbed over a 6ft high wall.. Couldn't manage to smash in the back door.. my neighbour heard the commotion so came over to see what was wrong.. by which time I was practically frantic and sobbing he would be drinking bleach or burning the house down (he was actually giggling and waving at me!!) The neighbour climbed on the bathroom roof an in through the bedroom window (into DS's room with a honking potty full of poo which I didn't know was there but it was July so was rancid!) and he unlocked the door so I could get in....

Had I had a brain.. I would have said 'pass mummy the keys through the letterbox please!'

We simply go into panic mode and don't think logically

anyway, .. half an hour later my waters broke and DD1 was born the next morning..

the moral being.. stop.. take a deep breath.. and think about it sensibly.... and don't scale walls when pregnant!!!
